About my institute

The best thing in my college is placements , there are many great companies with high packages recruiting us. And many reputed colleges also lag from core companies they only get software companies, but in my college there were good number of core companies recruiting us.Good in placements, extracurricular activities, hostels and dissatisfied in teaching quality.

Our institute course curriculum is fine and designed neatly. They covered all the subjects in the right process. Course curriculum is good and is helping but I feel they should keep industrial visits and give us more practical knowledge which helps us in future. And there are no software languages in my course curriculum for my branch. There will be two exams each semester, one is Mid Semester which is of 30 marks and is conducted in mid of semester and other is End Semester which is of 50 marks and is conducted at the end of semester and rest 20 marks is teachers assessment.

From my course 92 percent students got placed in which few students got double and triple placements with high packages. Highest salary is 43 lpa(CSE) and lowest salary is 3.5 lpa(core branches). Top companies are Microsoft, amazon, lowes, ola, oyo, increff, Samsung, one plus, Huawei, UHG, general electrics, deloitte, Alstom transport, tata steel, tata motors, lnt ecc, lnt limited, ZS associate, nokia, Engineers India limited, schindler India, aditya Birla. Roles offered in companies are business technology analyst, Graduate engineer trainee, management trainee. Average package is different for different branches , like CSE has average package of 15lpa and for core branch like EEE average package is 6lpa. Highest and lowest package of EEE is 11.3 lpa and 3.5 lpa respectively. 10 percent of students got internship in companies like amazon, Microsoft, tata steel, tata motors, wipro etc. A very few companies visit our institute for internship process,like tata steel, tata motors , LNT and some analytic companies and only few gets selected. The process is, round 1 is written and round 2 is group discussion and round 3 is technical and HR interview for core company whereas for software companies written round and technical and HR interview will be there. Stipend will be below 10000 per month.

Institute fests are sports meet, Culfest, Ojass(second largest fest in northeast),technical,cognitio,vidhaan take place every year. Many outsiders show active participation in our institute fests,there will be huge crowd and connectivity is great, we are also connected with our alumni who are at higher positions and they also sponsor for our teams. Sports meet is of three days , in which we have inter branch competitions. Culfest is cultural event , we have all types of cultural competitions like singing, dancing, fine arts etc. Ojass is a technical fest where we have robotics events, branch technical events, literary events, quiz etc. Both culfest and ojass is of three days. These fests give us immense pleasure and boosts up students. They are celebrated very well , we will also have pronites in these fests. Technica is fest of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering department. In this students from different institutes of national repute showcase their technical expertise in the field of Metallurgy and Material Engineering. Cognitio is the annual festival of Mechanical Engineering Department. Students of Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering of various institutes participate in this symposium in different events dealing with the implementation of engineering concepts followed by its feasibility study, optimisation, documentation and communication. Vidhaan, which literally means 'creation', is the annual branch fest of Civil engineering department.

Who falls into general category/OBC have to pay fees which is about 1 lakh per semester which is expensive. But those who fall into ST/SC categories , for them its feasible and comfort as fees is about 40k.

There is loan facility ,amount upto 7.5 lpa can be sanctioned. And there are many scholarships and fee remission provided for under category students. It provides scholarships like foundation for Academic excellence and access ,National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation, NTPC scholarship for engineering students, Indian Oil Educational Scholarship Scheme, CDIF Scholarship Program TATA CUMMINS, Merit Cum Means Scholarship, O.P. Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarships (OPJEMS), Post-Matric Scholarships for Students belonging to the Minority Communities.

There are many extracurricular activities, and every student will get a chance to develop any skill. We have all types of teams like sports team,cultural team, dancing team, singing team ,Literary club, Quiz club and we have many technical teams like team rays, revanta - solar vehicle manufacturing teams, team daksh- baja racing team, Innovation hub etc , which have their repective team events. And there is also fine arts team and robotics team etc. Only few LABS in my college are in working condition and are fine, they help us in getting practical knowledge. Sports and games are excellent. We have inter branch sports competitions and we have a team for each sport like basketball, cricket, hockey, football, volleyball, athletics etc. Each team also participate in inter NIT competitions.

Hostel is the first best thing in my college with very good facilities and quality of food is fine, it is edible. Canteen is not too good, we have to go outside campus to get best meals, medical facilities are good, and there is 24/7 ambulance available and they also issue of health cards.LAN facility is available 24/7. Hostels are clean and neat. And girls have two seater and three seater rooms and boys have single seater and two seater rooms. Hostels are maintained well. Hostel facilities and Infrastructure can be given 8 for 10.

Seniors teach us many things, they are very supportive and helpful. They guide us in every aspect. We are so proud of our Alumni members as they are in higher designations. And we also have alumni meet every year, so every year alumni come to our college and interact with us and also sponsor our teams.

We get NIT's by getting nice rank in JEE MAINS. The JEE MAINS cutoff marks and ranks for every institute is available in internet with respect to the category you belong to. I belong to general category and I secured 13999 rank. First we have to do counselling where we select institutes of our choice, and after every round we will be allotted by some institute and process goes on. The institute which is allotted to us in last round will be final. All this process is done in JoSAA website where all NIT's , IIIT'S and IIT'S allotment is done. Then we have to visit the respective official website of the institute ,that is allotted to us. In the institute website the fresher registration date will be given in notificatios. And we have to visit our institute on the corresponding date and complete our registration process as said by them.

I feel my faculty is very experienced , but some of the core subjects are not taught well, as we have many mass bunks. Some of the faculty are very helping, supportive and encouraging. Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable of no doubt, few teachers help us very well. But teaching quality is not too good. In our college the situation will be like btech student should learn everything of his own , there wont be many classes due to mass bunks and fests and other events also increases gap between teachers and students.
