My college wasn't that good but I had fun because of the campus and the friends that I made. Management of the college was not really good.
Entrance Preview
I did mass media which is completely on the basis of marks scored in12th std. I scored 67% and I had heard the name of the college from quite a few freinds so applied for it.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was good. It included everything that a mass media student is required to learn. It's difficult to remmeber all the subjects we had but some of them were History,Public relations,marketing,advertising,Psychology.
Internships Opportunities
There was no internship that was provided from the college. The students searched it themselves. Generally a PR intern is offered around 5k to 7k. It depends from company to company some firms don't order anything.
Placement Experience
There was no placement from our college. Students themselves figure out where they want to place themselves. There are soo many different job options for media student, I think it's difficult to get a company to college. Students make connections in the industry on their own and get a job.
College Events
Our BMM fest was Megahertz. It wasn't bug during out time but now it's gaining prominence. Apart from it no major events happened as such but there were seminars and workshops that were organised occasionally.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Very feasible mass media is not that costly. My fees was something around 16k,17k & 18k in first second and third year respectively. Apart from it our expenses included of notes and IV.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not avail for any loan since my free was not much. I think engineering college might provide such facility since their fees is tooo much.
Campus Life
There were no extracurricular activities but the campus is amazing. One can spend the entire day chilling out there. It's the best thing of K J Somaiya.
Alumni/Alumna
Our seniors were really cool. We all mingled up really well and they helped us whenever required. Our experience with them was good. Overall it was fun.
Exam Structure
It was very chilled out. We had just semester exams and sometimes just class tests which some subject teachers conducted. Our schedule was very relaxed because we didn't really have much to study. Mass media is all about the practice knowledge so there not much emphasis on theatrical.
Faculty
Some really had no knowledge but were appointed to teach us. Since the college is autonomous now I think it would be really bad now.
