Remarks

College management is good. No complaints as of now

Course Curriculum Overview

3

It's like any other government institution. Decent academics and good clinical exposure. Placement is definite. MBBS curriculum is supposed to groom us to become competent doctors and my college achieves to do that just the perfect way. Regular hospital visits.

Placement Experience

5

Placement is government hospitals is pretty common. Internship is compulsory after completion of the mbbs course. The duration is of 1 year. Adequate clinical exposure is gained during that period. The institution never took special steps because it's a part of the curriculum.

College Events

3.5

The cultural event called Plasma is organised every year. Several religious festivals are also celebrated. Plasma is a huge deal with more than thirty events. Special guest performances are organised along with local artists. Plus other sports events are also organized.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is nine thousand per annum. The admission fees is around two thousand rupees. No additional fees are charged. The college provides transparency in the fee-breakdown. You'll know what you are paying for. It's extremely affordable because of the low fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are available for economically weaker sections of the society. I am not very sure about the criteria.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is amazing. The campus is beautiful. I'd say the gender ratio is around 3:2 ( male to female ). There are no cases of intolerance of any sort. Every ethnicity is respected and treated equally. Bengalis are the majority here but everyone is respected.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors and alumni are great. They are extremely helpful. They try to motivate the students in every way possible. Alumni includes several eminent doctors. Ragging is not prevalent.

Admission

Thourough Neet UG 2019 which was conducted on 5th May. North Bengal Medical College is a pretty good college located in a beautiful city. The climate is amazing. I got in thourough my neet results. I had to go to the college with my results for direct admission.

Faculty

4

Approximately 3 lectures per day except government holidays. 10-20 lecturers per department which is pretty decent. Everyone is an MD / MS / MCh etc. Faculty is qualified. The lecturers are really helpful. They are super friendly and would go out of their way to help.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.
