Remarks
College is wonderful. Especially for my course. I got my final placement through it and it groomed me sufficiently to get one. I would definitely recommend my college for BMS in Mumbai.
Entrance Preview
It was a merit basis selection. No entrance test was required. All you had to do was fill up a form and wait for the list. Typically for BMS, for getting selected in 1st list you would require a percentage of 88-95 (generally catergory). For students who opted for arts in HSC(12th) requires a lesser percentage to get in. There gujrati quotas as well.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was illustrative. Very well planned. We never referred to local Mumbai University Prakashan Books, but the MBAs books. The method of learning was classroom fulltime. We had lots of tests & rigorous checks on attendance. Projects & presentations were part of our internal evaluations.
Internships Opportunities
Well, to be very honest, with regards to internships, there were very few of the companies They didnt come to our college, but we were asked to apply on emails for companies such as CRISIL, Reserve Bank of India, etc. & students were called off campus for the interview selection. For aspiring CAs, placement committee also had articleship opportunities. I did not apply for them as I got an internship off-campus.
Placement Experience
Towards the end the course, last three months we had many companies coming on campus. All the Big 4s, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, and several other companies offering roles in both Finance & Marketing came. The options for HR aspiring candidates were less however.
College Events
Our college had its own festival. Also, our self-financing courses had a separate college event - Colosseum. This was an annual festival organised by students having inter college competitions on management event, knowledge checks, dance and other cultural activities. The theme of the event varied every year and were out-of-the-box. The very last day we had pro night where there used to be celebrity performances.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was feasible. Infact with compared to private management colleges such as NMINS, Amity University, the fee was nothing compared to them. A year costed around 17000 to 18000. Other colleges affiliated to Mumbai University has similar fee structure for self-financing course.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not avail it. I have no idea about it..
Campus Life
Campus was good. No college ground. Multi-storey building with AC classrooms & few small halls. There was enormous opportunity for students interested in extra curricular activities.
Hostel Facilities
There was no such private hostel for college. Our college trust SVKM had common hostel for all its colleges for which the waiting lines are huge. Facilities are decent with AC & Wifi. Hostel charges are high, infact much higher compared to local Paying Guests.
Alumni/Alumna
We can register for alumni network by paying a nominal charge, Nobody from my batch - course did it, so no idea about it. P.S. we are connected on social media.
Exam Structure
There were several exams. Each year we had two semester finals. And two internals. As mentioned earlier, the presentations were part of internals, Class tests used to be a common affair. Towards the end of the course we had a final research work.
Faculty
Extremely good. Teachers were well trained. The method of teaching varied. But at the end the course was successfully delivered before the end of the semesters. Few of the professors had fun way of teaching while the rest were strict as well.
