Remarks

My college has all facilities and infrastructure. The quality of education is really good.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I had taken Electrical and electronics as my main stream. The course was relevant and it covered all the basic things an electrical engineer should know. It was not exactly research driven since we were just asked to study the concepts and not to do any research on them. The exams were mostly theoretical and we were made to understand the concepts. There was no much practical sessions to understand the concept. I gained Industrial specific knowledge to some extent because of project works. This knowledge helped during campus placements. Industrial visits were conducted to many industries to train us about the actual work done in industries.

Placement Experience

3.5

Companies like Infosys, acceture, TCS, L & T Tech services, Accord, Dell, Karmic, Robert Bosch, 99 games, Informatica, Tech mahindra, Wipro, Mindtree visit the campus for placement drives. Usually first round of placement drive will be online aptitude test followed by group discussion. Selected candidates will be sent for technical interview. Final round will be hour round. Around 70 percent students get placed every year. Soon after third year students will be trained about aptitude tests and group discussions. They also train you to build your resume.

College Events

3

There are two main events in our college. Technidarshan which is a technical event conducted in odd semester where you invite students from different colleges to participate in technical events. Anandhotsava is a cultural event conducted in even semester which involves intercollege cultural events. Students from around 10 to 15 colleges participate in these events. On average each event will have atleast 100 participants from various colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since I was admitted to the college thourough CET the fee structure was pretty feasible. The mode of payment was challan. The fee structure was pretty expensive for management seats. There was no additional charges to secure the admission. There is transparency in the fee-breakdown

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there were many scholarship opportunities based on merit, caste and income. One of them is Epass scholarship. This scholarship was given to OBC students who have cleared all subjects in the previous semester. This scholarship was given to around 4 to 5 thousand students. One more is beedi scholarship for students whose parents work in beedi company.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is around 40% female and 60% male. Students come from different states like Kerala, UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Tamilnadu. There are various extracurricular activities like onam celebration, Karnataka rajyotsava, gharba, holi, dandia nights. There are various sports activities like cricket, basketball, football, athletics etc. There were robothons which basically is a robot fight competition which was very interesting. Debate competitions were held usually in their respective branches. There were many clubs like kalanjanjali which was mainly to support dance. Aura club to visit and help ngo and old age homes. Silver screen to encourage actors. Stereo club to encourage singing talents. There were many competitions conducted by all these clubs within the college.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were very helpful during the course and also during placements. They guided us with their experiences. Most of them helped us in placement drives in understanding the company expectations.

Admission

I got admission to this college thourough common entrance test (CET). CET is conducted all over Karnataka and depending on the rank I could select respective engineering college and branch. I chose NMAM Institute of technology because it was one of the best engineering college in my home town. It had good placements and good faculty. I also chose this college because it was very convenient to travel. I took up Electrical and electronic stream since there were many opportunities in that field including government jobs. Once I chose the stream I got admission to this college in the month of August.

Faculty

3.5

There were around 17 lecturers in my course with the average age of 35 plus.Few of them have PhD rest have completed their post graduation and are doing their PhD meanwhile. Most of the lectures have experience more than 10 years. So they have been expertised in their respective subjects. Few of the lectures have Industrial experience as they were priviously working there and one of the lecturer is a part of electrical manufacturing company.
