Distance learning university in Haryana

The course curriculum is as per the UGC define guidelines for a B.Com level course. Exams are held in a semester wise manner that is in each year there are two semesters. For examinations and evaluation we have to appear at the regional examination centre of University. Assignments are given for mid-term assessment.

Placement rate of the University is not good for distance learning students. Job fairs are organised. If you are lucky then you will be getting a good placement however in most of the cases student have to look for job opportunities outside as average level jobs are offered in the job fair. Internship opportunities are also very rare and one has to manage the internship on his own.

The fee of the university is is minimum and manageable and since it is the distance learning course the fee is even less than the regular program. The fee for the three year program is around Rs 17, 000. Each year you would be required to pay an amount of Rs 5, 600 as the annual fee. Examination fees are to be paid separately when you apply for respective exam.

Scholarships are offered by the Haryana state government as well as the Kurukshetra University to students of certain categories like the economically weaker section and the reserved category student. The central government also offers scholarship as a part of its National scholarship portal. Since the amount of fee is less education loan will not be meaningful as bank will be reluctant to provide that.

For distance learning student extra curricular activities of clubs are not much relevant and since we are not regular program student we don't get opportunities to explore this facilities. For regular students though events and clubs are there and programs and workshops are organised by the University.

Admission to the University is based on direct application that is those who are 10 + 2 qualified can I apply for undergraduate programs while those who are undergraduate can apply for postgraduate exam based on their marks. I opted for the B.Com course from this university as I was preparing for my Chartered Accountant examination. Admission formalities are completed within a week.

There is not much of interaction with the faculty as we are distance learning students however in the regional centre when we get a chance to meet the facualty they are quite helpful and cooperative. Basically the faculty is of Kurukshetra University which are involved in teaching the student of full time course.
