It's worth It

Nothing bad to say about the college as it has been my college and I love it. I made some amazing friends here for a lifetime and I believe its the best that I could have got.

This is one of the famous colleges at Kolkata and I got through because of the cut off percentage. We did not have a formal interview, however we did have to meet the Principal before the admission was granted.

The course curriculum was University prescribed and was good enough. The subjects involved in the course was apt and did not overboard topics in any way. English was the key in all of the mentioned subjects as that was my favourite subjects. I was more focussed in all that was covered in the curriculum. Nevertheless the course topics did not disappoint me in anyway.

I did not have to do an internship because the course did not require so. Therefore an internship was not required. Internship would only be required for courses that are technical or need practical experience.

Schottish Church college does not have courses of technical background and therefore there is no placement cell in the college that undertakes placements or creates job opportunities

Kaledonia is the college fest that is celebrated every year. Sometimes at the college campus and sometimes are different locations within the city. Its complete fun time with guest artistes coming to perform in different arts. There are musicals and other performances by the students themselves involved in different competitions.

The fee structure during those days was absolutely feasible. It was not expensive at all. I believe a year's fees was within the 1500 INR reach which was pretty good.

I am not aware of this. I do not think the college provides any scholarship program for the students. But I may be wrong, its been 13 years now and therefore not sure what it is currently.

All of the extra curricular activities was demonstrated during the Kaledonia college fest. Debates, poetry, acting, music was all showcased during this time. It is obvious all of this is encourage in the college and therefore it could be show cased. The college also had sports and games and the facilities were good. Cricket, football, badminton, table tennis etc were some of the common ones.

I did not stay at the hostel and therefore I would not know much about the facilities and the food. However I did have friends there who were pleased with the facilities and also with the food provided.

I do not have any personal comments for any of the alumni and others. I believe the college is great and would recommend it for new students. There is nothing that you would not get from this college. Keep up the great work.

The exam structure is as per the University prescribed structure. Nothing is carried out outside the said structure.

The faculty of the college were good firstly for the fact that none of them taught in the regional language. I have heard that there are professors who end up teaching in bengali for non english subjects, but that was not the case with Scottish Church College. Most of the professors were involved with the students during the class which was a very good thing.
