Remarks
I am studying in this college for the past two years and this college has become my second home. Teachers and seniors are very helpful and cooperative. All the students are treated equal and well enough. Activities keeps us active. So for me, there's nothing negative remarks about the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Bachelor of Psychology is a three year course duration which provides an insight to the study of conscious and unconscious phenomena, as well as feeling and thought. One can work as a Advertising Agents, Career Counselor,Case Manager, Child Care Worker, Laboratory Assistant, Market Researcher,Psychiatric Technician, Probation and Parole Officer after the completion of the course.
Placement Experience
Axis Bank, Cipla Limited, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd,Torrent Pharmaceuticals ,Zydus Cadila Ltd. have visited Sikkim university every year to provide placements and job opportunities with a package of within 1lakh to 3lakhs.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure is very minimal. No huge amount of money is required as admission fee. The university provides only three year course. The first year fees, which is the admission fee, that is Rs.5,600/- and the for the rest two years, the fees is Rs.2,200/-. All it amounts to Rs.10,000/- at the end of three years.
Campus Life
The university was established in 2006. The University offers a number of 5 Undergraduate, 32 Postgraduate and 28 M.Phil/Ph.D. programs with different specializations. Sports form an important part of the university. Laboratories, canteen, common rooms are present too.
Hostel Facilities
Residents of the hostel will have to pay 2 months mess fee in advance at the time of admission. Hostel Seat Rent fee is 100% free for SC/ ST candidates. There is the system of 2 bedded, 3 bedded and 4 bedded. The choice is yours. Total fees to be paid by 2 bedded is Rs.8112/- , 3 bedded is Rs. 7788/- and 4 bedded is Rs.7626/-.
Admission
Central Admission Test (CAT) for all applicants of UG and PG programs takes place. The total marks is 100, out of which 50% is required to qualify the examination. Along with these, the marks scored in 10+2 examination is taken into consideration. A weightage of 10% is awarded to the registered students of Sikkim University for the purpose of preparation of merit list of UG courses.
Faculty
Each departments have different faculty members which has different qualities and are no doubt the best in their respective subjects. Sincerity is present in all the faculty members. Their qualification brings more interest in them to teach.
