Course Curriculum Overview
It is autonomous under calcutta university it has its own curriculum design and B.Com is typically divided into 6 semesters the specialisation subjects are to be selected for the 5th and 6th semester.
Internships Opportunities
The requirement of internship was restricted only to 2 months and we were asked to do the same. In most cases, the students pursuing B.Com were also pursuing other courses parallelly such as CA. So, the need for internship was fulfilled there form.
Placement Experience
The placement was good several companies came (1) EY package offered INR 5 Lacs(2) UBS package offered INR 5,5 Lacs others.
College Events
The biggest event is XAVOTSAV which is one of the most celebrated as well as cherished college fest in Kolkata. Also, the commerce section organizes its own fest known as INSIGNIA in which participations occur from PAN India colleges.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Some sections are government sponsored and they are feasible for the sections which are not government sponsored are relatively expensive. But the overall rate is lower than at par quality colleges.
Campus Life
The all boys club, Girls are allowed only in the afternoon and evening courses. The extracurricular is open for all who are interested and are willing to represent college at state, etc. levels. Apart from that, there are several clubs such as debate, National Cadet Corp, National Service Scheme, etc. in which one may participate.
Hostel Facilities
I did not avail the same as i was staying in Kolkata itself but, as far i have heard from friends, the hostel facility is limited to the availability of seats and the service is too good.
Alumni/Alumna
The college has the pride to have some of the very prominent names as its alumni one of them is sourav ganguly, former India caption also, the MD of Selvel advertising is also a prominent alumni these are only to name a few.
Exam Structure
We had a weekly evaluation system which means that we had weekly exams and then semesters they were tiring but make you prepared for semesters.
Faculty
The faculty was all highly qualified and had the requisite experience so as to provide quality teaching. They were instrumental in making us love our studies and also guided us so as to help in professional studies.
