Entrance Preview
There is no entrance examination for B.com(Hons). It is purely based on your class 12 board exam marks. There are different cut off marks for CBSE, ISC and WB board.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course would cover a wide range of subjects. You would study Indian Contract Act, Companies Act among others. Also marketing, organisational behaviour, accounts etc. You would have a choice to select your specialisation in third year.
Internships Opportunities
I never appeared for internship programs. However many companies do come for internships. As i never took interest in internships, I have absolutely no idea of the stipend.
Placement Experience
I had applied for a job in Futures First which was offering a package of around 10 Lakhs. Similarly, Uber had come offering almost the same package. There are other companies that come and offer around 3-4 Lakhs.
College Events
There are a lot of clubs and hence a lot of events that happen in the college. These events happen all year round. A famous event is Xavotsav, which is a college fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is very cheap in comparison to other colleges. Xavier's have been increasing its fees but it is still cheap. I think I completed all the three years in under 1 Lakh.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not felt the need to get a loan. But, if you need financial assistance then you can always talk to the Vice Principal, he might waive the fees.
Campus Life
I was in the morning batch which is boys only. So no chance of diversity here. In respect of extracurricular activities, there are various clubs which organise many events. You can always take part in those. There are many inter-college competitions, but most of them do not come to the knowledge unless you are connected with the right people or you are exceptionally good in it.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a large alumni network of Xavier's being a very old and one of the best colleges. It holds a lot of weight when you go for your further studies or a job. However, I have just passed out and I am yet to know more about such things.
Exam Structure
The exams are fairly regular. Therefore you keep on working almost all year round if you are very studious. However, most of it can be handled one or two night before exam.
Faculty
There are faculties who are extremely friendly and would help you a lot. You can approach them after class but be sure to note down their timings before going to the staff room. Also, I personally didnt like a few professors. Well it is more of a personal choice I would say.
