Karnataka CET. Scored a rank of 8122 amongst 65000 people. I opted for my course of industrial engineering and management as it was very close to mechanical engineering in curricula and chose the college bms college of engineering as it was very good in faculty and placements.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curricula was primarily mechanical engineering based with additional management subjects. Lots of electives to choose from, both mechanical and management subjects .
Internships Opportunities
NA to my course. For other branches there were a few companies which offered internship but I'm not privy to the stipend details. Many companies like abb, subex, tcs, wipro, Accenture offered internship .
Placement Experience
Placements were top class, with almost 95%of eligible students getting placed by the end of the course through campus. Tcs, wipro, Infosys, ibm, Google, Indian navy, tata elxsi, abb, satyam, tech m, fidelity, target, Goldman Sachs, and many more. Average ctc offered was around 4 lacs per annum.
College Events
Every department has their own fests, both technical and cultural. Along with that our college had a central national level fest techno cultural called Utsav. The sponsors and participation are more than rock concerts.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Mine was feasible. As that time government had a say in fee structure decisions and seat allocations, my fee came up to 8590 per semester. Also this was termed as a free seat or a government seat. There were other seats such as payment seats and management seats.
Campus Life
Campus life was awesome, lots of workshops to help with academics, lots of cultural club activities to meet new students. Politics is absent and political orientation is liberal throughout. College has students from all corners of the country. International students are mainly from the nationalities of Iran, China, African countries.
Exam Structure
Exams, internals, were pretty chilled out. Upto the individual to prepare and take it as it comes. Labs were twice a week as there used to be only 2 lab subjects in a semester.
Faculty
Faculty were very good, experienced and doctorate holders in industrial engineering applications. They were very up to date with current research. They were able to assist while being our internal project guides during the final semester.
