Course Curriculum Overview

Interior Design course curriculum involves a deeper knowledge of architecture, engineering and design that works towards creating functional and beautiful spaces. The three year course focuses on construction design, fundamentals of engineering and other designing and construction management and design.

Placement Experience

Our college provides proper training and helps us with resume building that ensures us great jobs. They have a strong network connection with various Architecture and Design firms that visit annually for placements. Although our college does not provide internships they ensure us landing good internships in designing and architecture field.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of the course is quite expensive. The fees for each year is Rs 1,00,000 which sums up to Rs 3,00,000 for the 3 year design course. Even though the fee is expensive the amenities and facilities provided by the college live up to it and also the college provides good practical experience and industry exposure.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college provides scholarship to the students post admission on the basis of academic excellence i.e above 80% grade. And also students with creative ability can submit a portfolio and avail scholarship on the basis of its excellence.

Campus Life

BSD has a wide range of extracurricular activities conducted on its campus every year. We have our annual fest "Mosaic" along with other events. The college also conducts industry tours for the students to a deeper look into the world of designing and architecture. The labs are well equipped. We have frequent workshops. There is no question of discrimination in any context.

Admission

I had applied directly to the college. BSD conducts a Design Aptitude test fro all the interested candidates each year for B.Sc in Interior design. I had cleared the test with more than 60% grade marks and then I was called for an interview. After which I was selected and had to submit my certificates and pay the fees for the course.

Our college consists of expert and qualified faculty who are experienced in their respective fields. Our faculty includes architects, interior designers and scholars that provide quality educational experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum here feels more practical and idea driven rather than just theory based which was one of the main reasons I chose this course it focuses on design thinking creativity and real execution instead of only textbook learning One of the strongest parts is how it slowly builds your understanding from basics to advanced concepts through projects assignments and presentations this helps in preparing for real world work because you are constantly creating and improving your portfolio rather than just studying for exams The curriculum does prepare you for industry to a good extent especially in terms of creative thinking software usage and project handling but it can improve by including more updated trends real time industry briefs and collaboration with professionals which will make it even more relevant Teaching methods are mostly interactive and practical but sometimes they can include more workshops guest sessions and exposure to current market tools to enhance learning experience Exams are conducted with two internal assessments of around 40 marks each followed by a final semester exam of 70 marks theory and 30 marks practical the difficulty level is moderate if you attend classes and complete your work regularly it is manageable Overall the curriculum is strong in building creative foundation and practical skills but with a few updates and more industry exposure it can become even more effective for future careers

Course Curriculum Overview:

We have really packed timings. We also have a lot of chances. Like an exchange program, internships and many chances to act or work in actual projects. I really hope they could teach us animation in the course and it would really help if the clubs are active. For every exam we have to come up with something new totally out of the box. sometimes we also have to work overtime.

Ab overview of life at NIFT Bangalore

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements after their graduation project in the 8th semester which is the 4th year. A good number of companies around 8-10 come for the campus placements. The minimum package starts from 6 lakhs and can go up to 20 lakhs per annum. Almost 70% of the students get an on campus placement. Some get an off campus placement as well. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters in my field.
