Remarks

BSD is one of the top 20 design colleges in Bangalore. Its state of the art campus and amenities are exceptional. Also it provides great experience and good industry exposure to its students. It also helps us with building our resumes and prepares us for future jobs and internships.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The interior design curriculum is spread over 6 semesters in 3 years. The curriculum involves the basic fundamentals of designing, architecture and construction. The course aims at providing a complete knowledge of acoustics of interior design.

Placement Experience

5

Our college has an excellent placement cell. We do not have internships at the college but after our 4th semester the college helps us land internships that provide us necessary experience for our job applications. Various architecture and design firms visit our college for recruitment.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees for each year of the course is Rs 1,00,000 which makes the total fees for the 3 year course Rs 3,00,000. The fee structure is expensive but when when you take in account the amenities and the benefits gained from the college it is justified.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college provides internship to its students on two basis; either on academic excellence of the student and/or on the basis of creative ability- for which the student has to submit a portfolio based on which they will be granted a scholarship.

Campus Life

5

Our college has a number of extracurricular activities that the students can engage in. Ever year we have an annual fest apart from all the cultural and social events. We have nice structured labs and good sports in our college. The gender ratio is almost equal and the campus environment is peaceful and interaction positive.

Admission

I had submitted an online application along with scanned certificates that were necessary. After which I had to write a Design Aptitude test conducted by the college. I had scored more than 60% and hence I was called for an interview. I got selected in the interview and had to pay my fees for the course.

Faculty

5

The faculty of our college includes architects, interior designers and scholars who are extremely experienced and qualified. They provide us the necessary practical knowledge and help us with our projects by being very supportive.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum here feels more practical and idea driven rather than just theory based which was one of the main reasons I chose this course it focuses on design thinking creativity and real execution instead of only textbook learning One of the strongest parts is how it slowly builds your understanding from basics to advanced concepts through projects assignments and presentations this helps in preparing for real world work because you are constantly creating and improving your portfolio rather than just studying for exams The curriculum does prepare you for industry to a good extent especially in terms of creative thinking software usage and project handling but it can improve by including more updated trends real time industry briefs and collaboration with professionals which will make it even more relevant Teaching methods are mostly interactive and practical but sometimes they can include more workshops guest sessions and exposure to current market tools to enhance learning experience Exams are conducted with two internal assessments of around 40 marks each followed by a final semester exam of 70 marks theory and 30 marks practical the difficulty level is moderate if you attend classes and complete your work regularly it is manageable Overall the curriculum is strong in building creative foundation and practical skills but with a few updates and more industry exposure it can become even more effective for future careers

Course Curriculum Overview:

We have really packed timings. We also have a lot of chances. Like an exchange program, internships and many chances to act or work in actual projects. I really hope they could teach us animation in the course and it would really help if the clubs are active. For every exam we have to come up with something new totally out of the box. sometimes we also have to work overtime.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements after their graduation project in the 8th semester which is the 4th year. A good number of companies around 8-10 come for the campus placements. The minimum package starts from 6 lakhs and can go up to 20 lakhs per annum. Almost 70% of the students get an on campus placement. Some get an off campus placement as well. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters in my field.

There is some issue in placement, though we get placement the scope for the future through these placements are not that great. Many students fail to get proper placements. The scope or plan for many students is to try and open a new brand or collaborate with other students to create a new brand.
