Shrenik Parakh's Review On BMS College Of Engineering - [BMSCE], Bangalore

Comedk, I scored 109/180 in the entrance testIt's a nice college as i got to know from reviews online and friends. Electronics was always fascinating and what better course than engineering to teach me that.

It's designed in an amazing manner. Our college being an autonomous one designs the syllabus on its own. They've put this self-learning component which is a nice way to learn and try something new in the lab along with normal lab classes. Electives are always nice to have as we get to learn subjects we're interested in from other branches.

I'm still in second year so can't say much about internship. But companies like TCS, Wipro etc offers internship. It really adds to one's resume. Also internships teaches a lot and you can learn how things can be in job life. About stipend i dont have much idea but that'd be around 5-8k per month. It's always nice to add it to your pocket money in college days.

When it comes to college event no one can beat us. Be it technical, cultural or sports we've got all of 'em and that too the best ones. The technical fest we have namely Phase Shift is the biggest technical symposium in the state. Cultural fest UTAV , ask anyone their reaction would describe. Welcoming more than 50k people over three days. And sports festival kreedoutsav is the best among its category.

Fee structure is different for students from different entrance exam students. If you are from CET then it's feasible but you've to be from Karnataka to take that exam. If you are from any other state then you can come from Comedk but comedk's fees is bit on higher side. It's around 1.5L but for CET students it's around 40k.

The toppers are given a scholarship of 10k. Other than this don't have much idea. About loans too I don't have any knowledge.

I'll be from that category who says college life is awesome. Gender ratio is quite good. If not 50-50, it's definitely over 40-60. Extracurricular is what is college is known for. You'll get many oppurtunities to showcase your talent and there will be people encouraging you.

Seniors are quite helpful. Didn't interact that much with alumni but seniors are always there as your guide. They are like friends and always are like elder brother. If you've got problem with anything you'll go to them as they're approachable and you feel free to discuss with them.

As mentioned earlier, our college being an autonomous one manages academics on its own. The exam structure is designed in an amazing manner. We have CIE for cotinuous internal evaluation. Then SEE for semester end exams. Thus it's degined to evaluate the student throughout the year. There is marks for self learning component too.

Faculty is good if not the best. They always encourage us to learn stuffs both academic and non academic. They do use real life examples to relate with subject and give insight to the industrial working style. Our college has got the maximum percentage of PhDs in the entire state.
