Can be a good option for your graduation studies

Syllabus and course curriculum for Sociology program has been adopted as per the guidelines of the University. Subjects are spread under various categories throughout the the duration of the program. The categories are generally compulsory and elective for various subjects. Examinations are held semester wise with internal tests and assignments from time to time.

Placement and job opportunities in the college are managed through the placement cell. However to be honest no good placement opportunities are there and only few companies or no companies visit for campus placement sometime. Students dwell hard on their own to get jobs. Internships are not mandatory in our course and are not required to be done as a part of the syllabus.

The fees of the college is not too high and is under the normal limits. For the entire duration of program in Sociology the fee is Rs 20,000. The amount is paid partly in two payments after the submission of amount for 1st year at the time of taking admission.

I am not much aware about the financial assistance like scholarship that is on offer for student. However have came to know that University offers scholarship to students who perform well in the academics and have fulfilled certain eligibility criteria. Some of my batchmates applied for educational loan from the State cooperative Bank and the same is also offered by other commercial banks as well.

Clubs and groups in the college provide room for or us to engage in the various extra curricular activities from sports to art and culture. The infrastructure for extra-curricular activities like playground are in sync with the infrtstructure for academic aid like classrooms, library etc. Events like traditional dance competition, folk dance competition, Republic Day, and Independence Day are celebrated on campus.

For admission to my college one can make application either online or offline. The simple procedure of application involves filling in the detailed application form and submission of the required documents like the marksheets and school leaving certificate. The college is a popular graduation college Tinsukia and is known for offering quality education.

The teaching staff our college is good. Some of our senior professors are doctorate holder in the discipline of Sociology and have expertise in the domain. Being a theoretical subject things can go boring at time and the teachers understand this fact and try to inculcate examples in teaching to keep our attention intact.
