Decent college for pursuing graduation

The college follows well laid out holistic syllabus and course curriculum in line with the Universities and the UGC defined guideline. As far as the universities rules are concerned the examinations are held in a semester wise fashion and apart from that tests and evaluations are done regularly throughout the academic curriculum.

Placement is one thing where the institute lacks that go to factor which is required and aspired when you look from a students perspective. You have to to put efforts on your own to get decent placement. As far as internship is concerned it is not a mandatory part of as per our course and if one wants to pursue an internship program that he is free to do so however the institute doesn't guarantee the same.

Amount charged by your college is quite manageable and has kept in mind the fact that education should be accessible and affordable for students. The fee for the entire course duration is less than rupees 20,000.

The West Bengal State Government offers scholarship to the student who are domicile of the state and are from financially weaker sections of the society. The educational loan facility is offered by private and public sector commercial banks to the student in case one is not able to get the scholarship sanctioned.

Extra curricular activities in our college are mostly focused on fitness and sports. One reason for that is that the main clubs in our college are the sports club, NCC and NSS where discipline and fitness are the key focus. Events like inter-department football competition, University sports competition, Republic Day celebration and Independence day celebrations etc are organised. Infrastructure and facilities like library, classrooms, laboratories etc are sound and good.

Admissions to our college are governed by merit based criteria that is on the basis of percentage of marks that a student has obtained at higher secondary or 10 + 2 level. Apart from that some seats are reserved for students to apply enter the sports quota. I was looking for Institute that offers honours program in Geography and this institute being the one close to my place of residence so I naturally opted for it.

Talking about the faculty it can be said that the professors are good with decent knowledge of the respective disciplines. What I like is their idea of teaching which is to make students learn something from the the classroom and to make sure that students don't have any doubts in their mind as the leave the classroom.
