Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is advanced compared to several other colleges. However, I feel there can still be more stress put on more recent innovations in the market. There are 2 exams per semester: the CIAs (which serve as the midsems) and the semester exams. There are also seminars+assignments taken for every subject.
Placement Experience
There is a placement cell which includes student volunteers. Not many people are keen on getting placed right after B. Com though. Most continue to pursue Masters (there is a trend of more and more people going for MBA these days) or complete their CA exams, etc.
College Events
Xavotsav is the annual fest of the college which has a great footfall. The Commerce Society organises Insignia, an international level management fest. Several other Societies of the college organise several inter-college and intra-college fests throughout the year.
Hostel Facilities
I have not opted for it. As far as I'm aware, it's decent with 2-3 people sharing a room. Meals are included in the hostel fees but usage of certain high electricity consuming gadgets require more amount of money to be paid.
Admission
For B. Com, there was a merit list based on ISC marks. I also got into BMS which has a merit list based on ISC percentage and an entrance test combined. I chose B. Com because it's more comprehensive.
Faculty
Almost all faculties are highly qualified ( including several PhDs, it is particularly beneficial for those planning to enter the field of academics themselves) and have an inclination to teach. However, obviously not every teacher can keep the students as interested.
