It was established in 2002 by the legislature of chhattisgarh state. It is recognized by national council for teacher education. Other campuses are at Raipur, Raigarh, Durg. Dr. Pankaj chande is the vice chancellor of the university.

BBA, diploma, PG diploma, b com, b sc, MA, bachelor of social work, BA are available. BBA has two streams here namely retail management and general. All the courses are designed in a proper way and all are approved.

Companies like HCL, hero honda, tecumreh, marico, HP, godrej, finolex, ACC, chambal fertilizers, jindal photo films, maruti suzuki, motorola, everyday industries visit the campus for recruitment. Placement statistics are good.

The fee us quite affordable for anyone. Most of the courses cost around 8000 per annum. Infrastructure of the college is ok and hostel and mess facilities are also good. Mess food quality is also good.

Various days like yoga day, republic day, independence day etc are celebrated every year. Various events, debates, quizzes are held frequently. Most of the students are from chhattisgarh. The college has a ragging free campus.
