I got admission directly on the basis of my 12th standard board examination marks plus guj-cet examination. I scored 95% in board exam and 103/116 in guj-cet. I was getting admission in all government medical colleges of gujarata but i chose baroda medical college as the undergraduate programme here was best in gujarat plus that is my home town too.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum was so good. It was best in all the colleges of gujarat. Teachers were so hardworking and enthusiastic. We were given ward duties since my second year. We saw thousands of patients during 5.5 years of my college. Overall i learnt what a doctor should know.
Internships Opportunities
We have to do compulsory 1 year of internship in our college. During which we worked in our hospital with our residents and professors. I learnt some basic procedures and fir aid management of patients. We were given 7000 rs per month stipend .
Placement Experience
Our course does not provide o campus placement. Its like we can go to any hospital and join them and given appropriate salary according to our qualification. There are numerous opportunity available for us that we dont need campus interviews.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I studied in a government college. So fees were negligible. It was 6000 rs per year. Plus government was giving scholarships to lower economical classes. Books were expensive but compared to other colleges of mbbs it was nothing.
Fees and Financial Aid
No loans were given as per my knowledge. And scholarships were given by government to scheduled tribe, scheduled case and socioeconomically backward people.
Campus Life
My campus life was amazing. People used to play on the regular basis in our university's pavilion. But only boys use the playground. Very few girls participated in sports. We faced gender biases at times in ward postings. Some favoured girls and other favoured boys.
Alumni/Alumna
Our college alumni used to fund for hospital development. They have built some good buildings for hospital. The organises their meet every year. They are all usually big established doctors. I have met some of them and they were pretty generous and down to earth.
Exam Structure
Every year we have to give 2 exams before out final exams. Plus ward ending exams in the end of each term of 2 months. So overall its like we are giving exams many often. But afterall it was mbbs, the toughest course in india.
Faculty
Faculty was so well and qualified and enthusiastic. They took keen interest in teaching the students. They gave us all important clinical and theoretical knowledge. They were very student friendly and supportive.
