SIOM- Enriching life of future managers

I would like to say if you are looking for making your career in operation management then there is no better place than SIOM. It will not only make you a manager but also a disciplined citizen. So I would also recommend SIOM for operations management students.

This college follows a semester exam system. The life in SIOM is both hectic as well as chilled because here in SIOM we do many primary as well secondary based projects which really demands for time and brainstorming that make life hectic here but the other activites like sports and cultural helps us in chilling and relaxing.

The placement in SIOM is 100%. The average package of this college is 12 lakh. Major companies which visit our campus are Amazon, flipkart, capgemini, Tata, kantar and many more. SIOM also provides intership to their students and they bring those companies who gives stipend to their interns. For internship companies like Amazon, kirloskar oil engines, Walmart and many more come in SIOM.

We here in SIOM celebrate every small and big festivals. We also organize management event every year in the month of November. This event many activities like sports activities which include football, box cricket, table tennis and basketball in cultural event we have solo dance, solo singing, group dance and many other activities. We also have academic activities in this event the games like chankaya niti, stock market, ad mania are organized in it. Last year we had 800 plus participants from pune, nasik and mumbai.

The fee of SIOM is 15 lakhs seeing the amount one should think it is expensive but reality is totally different when we compare it with other colleges they have a fee of 8 to 9 lakhs or even lower but the quality of education and knowledge we are receiving and learning in SIOM has no comparison and even the facilities which we are getting are of high standard so I think the fee is feasible. Even the placement that students get here is usually above 10 lakhs so it's worthwhile and feasible to pay 15 lakhs to SIOM. We have to pay this fee on the installment basis in every 3 months.

SIOM does not provides scholarships to their students but they offer loan services to their students. The banks like HDFC and SBI provide loan to the students at cheap Intrest rates. Even many private banks give loans to SIOM students.

In SIOM we have students for every part of India. Which has created a diverse community here. Here we enjoy many extracurricular activities like treasure hunt sports like basketball, cricket. Even college organises many guest lectures of big big industrialists who come and deliver lectures here and motivates us. Many Competitions of cultural and sports are organized here.

SIOM provides the hostel facilities to their students. The rooms in the hostel are very clean and spacious. Rooms located near the reading room and library which helps us to go there and study. The room is shared between two students and both had their respective study table. We have to pay 30,000 for availing the services of hostel every semester that means in every 6 months we have to pay 30k.

Seniors were very supportive and polite. They always helped us In projects and in our academics. They even help SIOM students to get good intership. Our alumni are also very supportive they help us in placements and even they take our interviews and gives us advice about how to proceed in our career.

All the symbiosis colleges have a special entrance exam named as SNAP. All the colleges under the name of symbiosis have different cut off and the Students who are able to cross that cut off are shortlisted for the further process. Which are gd (group discussion) and final interview. I had also gone through the same admission process as mentioned above. Last year the cut off of SIOM was 92%. Usually the cut off SIOM is above 90 percentile. I had chosen this course over other courses because I have intrest in manufacturing, processing and I want to work on the shop floor to know how the final product is made and to know that to explore that world I have to be an operation manager. That is why I had SIOM which provides a detailed knowledge about operations.

The faculties of this college are very interactive and supportive. All the faculties have at 5 years of industry experience and they don't hesitate in sharing their experience with us. We too have visiting facilities like Mr. Girish Pathak who has industry experience of more than 25 years and he has also taken training sessions of Dubai corps. For every course we have particular faculty assigned.
