Remarks
Nature loving very very good college. You can find deer, stag, black bucks, monkeys roaming around and playing. It's a best experience. Due to geographic location it is bit hot in summers but it's manageable
Course Curriculum Overview
First year was completly about courses in second year we have to do projects. In terms of schedule first year was pretty hectic second year was normal. Apart from study Master students do TA ship also which also increases the work load 8 hrs a week.
Placement Experience
Placement are very good. For computer science average package was 20lpa. Placement happens during 1 to 10 Dec every year and around 400 companies participate in that. For internships people used to get an amount between 30k - 90k.
College Events
We have shaastra and saarang as technical and cultural events respectively. They are national level events where a good crowd come to enjoy it. Apart from that they have PG Reunion and other college fest and tournaments.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For masters it is feasible. 13 thousands tution fees per semester and 30 thousand mess fee per semester. It is a very less amount. Most of the things are govt. Subsidiaries. So it's very cheap for post grads.
Fees and Financial Aid
I used to get 12400 rupees as stipend for Teaching assistantship in the college. We have a SBI bank inside the college premises which give educational loan at very minimal affordable rates.so no need to worry.
Campus Life
Gender ratio was 10:1 boys Vs girls You will find people with all religions in IIT madras. You will find many international students doing their degrees in their respective departments. People generally follow their regional political parties.
Hostel Facilities
I was a post graduate, so I had a Single room alloted for me, hostel and mess fees included we need to pay 30 thousand per semester.some times they use to reduce / increase that amount on the basis of days in SEM
Alumni/Alumna
Yes they are very helpful. We have IIT am alumni association which tries to connect to senior alumni which help reasing and donating fund fo re the college. And they also use to help students when ever required.
Admission
I got admission in IITM through a exam called GATE. I secured all india rank 134 and got computer science and engineering as a branch in the second list. This college in MhrD all india 1 engineering college with vast research areas so I planned to join it.
Faculty
Most of the faculties are researchers. So they have in-depth knowledge of subjects. They give very good assignments and teach and discuss new technologies.they work on various new technologies like AI ML.
