Remarks

Well as it is situated in the south campus of Panjab University, it remains unnoticed inspite of its huge percentage of students in the University. Most of the vote bank lies in UIET during the annual Student Council Elections.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Well to be honest the course structure is not well defined but yes it's better than some of the colleges. When it comes to comparison with private colleges, UIET lags far behind with a strong need to amend the course structure and a need to add more valuable and related subjects in every engineering stream.

Placement Experience

3.5

To be honest the college doesn't provide internships but you can do projects in summer as well as winter vacations. When it comes to placements companies like Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Infosys, Wipro, Yamaha visit the college but then also the average package goes around 5. 5 lakh p. a. Of campus placements depends upon the calibre of the students, 2 students grabbed jobs in Microsoft with packages of 38 and 45 lakh p. a. respectively.

College Events

4

Well there is a long list of events in the college including annual college fest GOONJ. Izaad is a fest organised by the official literally club of college MAGBOARD. There is a long list of fests with a good number of participants. Being linked to PU, UIET students get access to the annual fests of the other departments of Panjab university.

Fee Structure And Facilities

60k to 70k per semester fees. It increases every year making it a bit expensive than the facilities provided by the college to the students. You need to fill examination fees per semester which is around 3k.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a SBI branch in the college campus which may provide you with education loan and when it comes to scholarship, there are a very few opportunities available. Students from economically lower section or belonging to Uttar Pradesh have a higher chances of scholarships.

Campus Life

2.5

Gender ratio Mechanical - very low Biotechnology - extremely high EEE and ECE - Average (for engineering) IT and CSE - Fairly Good College has a good collection of clubs ranging from organising committee like BPC to photography club IMAGEN respectively. There are political parties in the college due to the influence from north campus of Panjab University.

Hostel Facilities

3

Insufficient hostel accommodation. Well hostel allotment is on rank and category basis and consider yourself lucky enough if you are allocated any of the hostels in PU. Hostel rent is around 1200 per month excluding food. Average PG rent is around 4k per month excluding food.

Alumni/Alumna

Well the most support comes from the seniors, during the orientation you would meet some seniors and will come to know how supportive the next few years of your college are going to be. The college has a decent Alumni network with frequent visits in the college for seminars.

Admission

Well it was pre decided by my side to opt for engineering in computer science or information technology. After my JEE MAINS I was left with some options to go with in North India including some private institutions and some good colleges like Thapar but at last I came across a government funded institute UIET with branding of Panjab University. Admission is purely on the basis of JEE MAINS rank and you get reservation if you fall in any of the reservation criteria of the college.

Faculty

3.5

The college has good faculty when it comes to stream like IT while the other streams seems to be discomforted with their respective faculties provided. But yes the college is surely short of teachers, it hires PHD scholars for a shot tenure in order to cope up with this issue.
