There is nothing bad to say about my college or the management. 4 years of engineering went in a flash and it's been 10 years and still the memories are fresh.
Entrance Preview
It was CET in 2001 to get into engineering college in Karnataka. RVCE was one of the best college interms of lecturers and all the extra curricular activities and placement was the best during those days where 100% folks used to get placed by end of 3rd year.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculam was extensive for electrical engineering and being under VTU was a nightmare for single individual. The lecturers were the best and helped in every aspect, there was strict adherence to attendance and the electrical HOS ensured everyone attend's the Lab and the class without fail, else has resulted in disciplinary action.
Internships Opportunities
We didnt have any internship program, it was just that few of us got an opportunity to do projects in company that we were placed in during the end of 3rd year.
Placement Experience
Placements were the best, most of us had 2 job offers at a time at the end of our 7th Semester. RVCE being the top college almost every single IT company were picking up more than 50 students. Also we had option of attending any number of interviews even after being placed.
College Events
College was fun with every month celebration with one or other event. Mostly every deparment had their own fest and also once year there used to be final college fest to celebrate
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was very less for me atleast considering the merit quota. For entire 4 years the cost was 60K approximately since I was a day scholar. If hostel fees added it might be a bigger amount. Management quota was around 1.2 lacs per year and mostly North Indian students always filled the same.
Campus Life
Gender ratio was 70:30 . Campus life was amazing thought with events every month, also inter department cricket, badminton, chess tournamnets, debates were fun. Everyone were treated equal and there was no such issues during my tenure.
Hostel Facilities
I was never a part of Hostel and used to travel from home so cant comment on the food or hostel. However canteen food was excellent. Hostel facility was mostly 2 or 3 in a room as per my friends.
Exam Structure
It was easy during first year and wasnt hectic since the subjects were common for everyone. However it was the 2nd year and 3rd year of Electrical engineering that was a nightmare, there was so much to cover in a very less time frame.
Faculty
Faculty were the best I can think of, there strict during early days and during the end of college days there were the best. The knoweldge was extensive and have hlped every one of us to progress well in our career and in life.
