College Review

Our college is developing day to day which develop its students and make them ready to conqure the world. Our college has always welcomed new opportunities for its students and works since 1936 for developing students. Our college believes in widening horizons.

The course structure in my college focuses on proper technical development of student in the commerce field and also soft skills like leadership, communication, social responsibilities, etc. are also taken care of. Besides this, my college include various art platforms which also develops skills and gives good exposure to the students. The examination pattern is focused on both, theoretical and practical knowledge. Even we get on field experience and is indirectly helpful to our exam which are taken in our college. Per semester we have two exams, one is taken by college and one by university and both are not much burden for students. The examination pattern allows students to pursue for other profeesional courses and do not keep burden on them.

Our college has a separate placement cell which works for placement of students in reputed companies like Tata Consultancy Services, ICICI Bank, LIC, etc. Cell actively participates in Placement fairs held every year and also cell prepares students for interview and communication skills. Our college provide voluntary internships in different reputed local firms. But I have not opted to go there as I want to focus on preparation for competitive exams and other certificate courses in various fields like management, theatre and finance.

We have great participation in Gujarat University's Youth festival in both Sports and Cultural events. Besides we have various clubs like Teater Club, Music Club, Dance Club, Economics Club, and many more. These clubs are active for whole year and consists of students who have excelled in respective field. Various concerned workshops are organised by these clubs. These clubs shows participation in all National and International level competitions. Besides all these our College organises Gujarat's largest and best Model United Nations. Annually we have a one week festival named Expressions, which comprises of various Technical, Management, Sports and Cultural activities.

For Boys per semester fees is around 1200 INR and for Girls it is 600 INR. These fees include every charge i. e. tution fees, exam fees, registration fees, other ambities fees, wifi charges, etc. We are not charged additionally for facilities like Library and Gym. Basic Stationery charge is taken for various forms to be filled in the college. Apart from all these, there is very nominal charge for annual festivals and other festivals held by alumni association. Apart from all these, there are various scholarship schemes for underprivileged students and scholar students. We are provided Tablet at very subsidised rates from our college and also various certificate courses are arranged at very nominal fees from our college.

We have annual scholarship of 10000 INR from our College for all students on the basis of Income Tax Return. There are also scholarship schemes for reserved class but I have not much knowledge about it.

There are weekly workshops or semi are organised by our college on various topics and Gender ratio is 2 girls per boy. We also have anti ragging cell in our college and student counciling cell. Various awareness drives are also organised in our college.

I have opted for private PG and my per month rent is 12000 INR which include food, electricity, accommodation, laundry, etc. In my PG I'm provided with breakfast, lunch, snacks in evening and dinner everyday. Laundry facility is also there. We have four sharing Air conditioned room with attached bath room.

Yes, the alumni association is very helpful to the students. They arrange for funds for some events and they also organise 15 events annually in college for various celebrations, fitness, awareness, get together, etc. There is also anti ragging cell in our college and seniors are very helpful to juniors in our college.

I was interested in commerce stream and management, finance and accounting are my strong side. I had option to opt for Business Administration course, but that would not include finance and accounting in depth. Choosing this course also opens doors for various other profeesions like law, chartered accountant, company secretary, etc. Talking about the selection procedure of my college, it was totally based on the merit list. No interviews or entrance test were taken. The process ran exactly in the way guided by Gujarat University. There are some percentages for reserved class, but the merit list set by the college under university's guidance helps to maintain the quality of college.

In our college, faculties are highly qualified in the so concerned subject and along with teaching the lessons from textbook, they take interest in different activities which are connected to their subject and help students for their wholesome development. Faculties introduces students with many opportunities and provide them best motivation and guidance with best interest.
