Green Infrastructure with Excellent Faculties

Our college has good infrastructure and better rules. We hostelers need to apply for gate pass before going for outing in weekends, and we are not allowed to go outside college during weekdays.This college will suit only for students who want to study and pursue more Knowledge and wanted to do research work or need to get placed in core companies and NOT for those who need to enjoy their college life in their own way.

I took IIT JEE Mains(Score- 102), BITSAT(Score- 140), VIT(Rank- 14K), Manipal(Rank- 11K), KIIT(Rank- 7K), NDA(Sorry, didn't see Results) and Amrita(6K). I got options to choose from Manipal, VIT, KIIT and Amrita. In Manipal I didn't get core course like CSE and ECE. VIT and KIIT, personally I don't have good opinion. So, I opted for ECE in Amrita School of Engg. I chose Amrita, because I heard good Opinions and Infrastructure was much better than other Engg. colleges and I wanted to pursue my education in deemed university, as I am interested in Research.

As our Syllabus is Reviewed and Updated in 2015( This year ), I personally feel it is excellent. In First semester at computer science, like other colleges we don't have C language, we have it in 2nd Semester. We had Scratch, Raptor and MS Excel which we would be using in Industries, Which I felt is Extremely useful. In First Semester, We had Electronics and Electrical workshop where we got chance to learn real life Electrical works like Staircase wiring and many other electrical works which we would be using in Real life and day to day works. In English, we had boring Grammar too. In Humanities, we had Cultural Education where we got a chance to learn Indian Heritage and Culture, But I would frankly say, Cultural Education is Really a boring subject which we had in 1st Semester. In Engineering Drawing like other colleges we don't have drafter or something, we do all those in CADIAN ( similar to AUTOCAD ), only for mechanical department they have drafter that too in second semester. So, we were not feared of Engineering Drawing in First Semester.

As I am in first year I don't have any idea about internships and stipend. But from Seniors when I inquired, got to know that students from our college are doing Internships in top companies and getting good amount of Stipends. Even our Seniors did Internships in Google, Infosys and some of the core companies.

As I am in first year I don't have any idea about Placement and Opportunities. But from Seniors when I inquired, I got to know that In 6th and 7th semester we are having Campus Placement in our college. This year 2015, Amazon took 5 students from our college for 20L/annum, where our college's highest salary record is 25L/annum (through Campus Placement). By the way, our college has Mass recruiters too, where we have Average salary package as 3.5L/annum. In short we can say, you can get a job if you are in Amrita, If you study and Hardwork well, will be getting placed in a good Company, else in BPO or some least paid companies.

In our college we celebrate one Technical cum Cultural fest ( Anokha ) and One festival ( Gokulastami ).Anokha : This is the biggest fest celebrated in our college once in a year for Three days. It is celebrated in a grand way. College used to invite one popular Tamil singer every year. This Year ( 2016 ), invited two popular tamil singers. And in technical way, used to present our modals, ideas to the judges, online Photography competitions will be conducted and Prize amount will be distributed. Those 3 days college will be just Rocking.Gokulastami Celebration: It is only our college which celebrates gokulashtami festival. Students used to dress themselves as Krishna and other gods. Students used to prepare Chariots on their own. With full of student work each dept. wise like competitions will be conducted.Apart from these two, our college has some 8-10 clubs, which is functioning actively where we used to get chance to participate in different events and show off our talents.Compared to other colleges, our college doesn't have many fests, but what fests our college conducts will be just Awesome.

I am a Hosteler, the fees below is mentioned for Hosteliers Fee Structure per Year:Tution Fees : 1,79,000Mess : 44,000Hostel : 36,000Total - Rs. 2,59,000Up to me the college fees is feasible. But generally as compared to other colleges our college fees is expensive. In short, our college has higher fees than other colleges.

Gender ratio between men and women will be 4:1 and in computer science mostly it will be 1:1. In hostel no much rules, but it is not possible to consume Alcohol and all.Our college clubs conduct some type of workshops for students by proving faculties from different colleges.Through clubs present in our colleges we used to show off our talents and interest to college mates.NO partiality or gender or caste based problems we face.

I have been in hostel for last two years. Compared to that hostel, Amrita hostel is nothing great, but in general the hostel has been provided with enough facilities which is required for student. We are provided with WiFi in our Hostel and Academic Blocks, I wont say it has great speed, but it has enough speed if we are using for Academic purpose just like seeing videos in NPTEL or MIT CourseWare or something.One room is Shared by 4 people.Simply, Hostel is good. Our college mess provides healthy vegetarian food. But not so tasty. But it is possible to manage this food for better living.

When we spoke with some of our seniors and Alumina's we got to know that, they are given better preference in their Company when got to know that they are from Amrita.

In overall faculties are good in our college. I don't mean like all are doctorates or excellent ones. Even we have freshers too. For Engineering drawing we had one faculty who was Awesome. He taught EG just like that using PPT's, where we could learn the projection and View's in clear manner. For computer, many of my classmates are from Bio- stream, so they didn't have any idea about computer Program, our faculty slowly taught them how to learn it easily and they will also ask to come to department to clear any doubts. Many of our teachers are ready to clear our doubts.In our college we have a system to Evaluate our teachers in the end of the semester, which the teacher would be seeing, without our names. In any way it didn't affect our Internals as they would be seeing it Anomalously.
