Best College in Kolkata

My college is the best for this course in the city and amongst top 10 in India.

Course is as per the course of Calcutta University. It's a descriptive detailed course with a lot of knowledge about accounting and finance. It helped me in pursuing CA. It has a research paper in it's 3rd year. A thesis has to be provided on any topic of your choice and a viva is to be given at the end.

Companies like the big four firms, Delloite, Price Waterhouse, Ernest and Young and KPNG come for placement. Other companies include Goldman Sachs, BYJUs etc. In the third year of college a 1.5 month internship is to be done at a place of your own choice. The companies have their own individual placement drives. Almost 65% candidates get placed.

Xavotsav is the annual college fest which takes place every January. Other Management events are there like X-Calibre, X-Genesis etc. Corporate events like Best Manager, Best CEO are organised every year. Xavrang, Xavoullash are some cultural fests organised by the student's council. Xavostav has a crowd above 7000.

St Xavier's College Kolkata provides an expensive fee structure for bcom. The morning session which is only for boys is roughly around Rs.3000/ month but the evening session which is coed is Rs. 6000/month. No additional fees is required at admission. Only security deposit will be taken and that shall be refunded at the end of 3 years.

No the college does not provide any scholarship opportunities. The students have to pay the entire college fees.

Morning session -100% boys Evening session - 96% girls remaining 4% boys There are 4 computer labs which are huge. The college has it's own playground. Students are diverse here and no nepotism exists based on religion, caste, creed, race or sex. Students are ethical.

No I did not opt for hostel. Hostel facilities are only provided to Catholic and Christian students or students who have a strong sports background. Only outstation candidates are provided the same. PGs are available at 3000-4000/ month. Hostel is not located within the college premises. And are on sharing basis.

Senior students are very helpful. Be it studies or annual events etc. Alumni is also interactive and supportive.

I wanted to pursue the course of Chartered Accountancy. Hence I had to do Bcom compulsorily. But I had 93.5% in the best of 4 subjects in my ISC examinations. I got St. Xavier's College Kolkata Bcom honours 3rd list. College starts from 2nd July every year. Orientation programme is on 1st July.

There are around 25 teachers for commerce. And their average age is around 30-40. They are highly qualified and Doctorates in their respective subjects. Some teachers have industry background also but mostly they have academic background. They attend individual queries of the students too. It's an excellent faculty.
