Indian Students

The most bad thing is long study hrs of college everyday we have to sit from 9:45am till 4:45pm in college to attend lectures and only one hr is given in this period for practical which was never sufficient.

Now talking about the curriculum my course, B-tech was divided into eight semester each two semesters in each year followed by an external exam at the end of the semester conducted by UPTU University, also we have three internal exams on college level which gives us internal marks. The sum of internal and external marks are calculated at the end of the semester to evaluate percentage of students. Fairly i will say the internal marks are provided by the college to students so that thier overall marks comes in a satisfactory level because the most of the students are unable to perform well in thier external exams so the internal marks are the hope for everyone and the college didn't fail anyone. If you ask me relevance of exam, i can only say if external exams are conducted only then that is relevant internal marks make everyone a topper. The couse was followed in such a manner that no research work is included, practicals are conducted but only as a part of syllabus and students learn nothing from them. Such a coures are very harmful for the students because there is nothing to learn that you can apply in your future after this couse everyone found themselves nowhere in life.

Very poor placement i have to say. If i talk about my branch we are 25 students, no company of electrical have visited college and one or two other companies of mechanical have visited but they wanted us to fill a bond of two or three years so no one have got any jobs. The overall placement of college is also very poor since only 3-4 companies have visited and only ten percent students overall were placed. Our institution have provided a short course of three month so that students can get selected but again not more than 4-5 companies have visited the college. Also college have demanded extra money for placement drive which most of students have not paid.

Only two events were hosted by college one in our second year and second event in third year both are at district level students from different colleges have also participated in them and it provided students to show thier talents besides studies. Both technical and cultural events were hosted to provide students opportunities to participate in various competitions and test themselves. Also various sports events were conducted by the college. Students are allowed to host and manage various events so that they can learn management system which is really benifitial. Prizes were distributed to students for thier encouragement.

The fee structure is very expensive, however i got a free waiver seat & have to pay only 25% of total fee. The total fee for a year i.e. two semesters were 105000? and if you have to live in college hostel you need to pay an additional 75000?, however no additional fee was charged besides this. College never tell anyone about fee breakdown. Sometimes students get government aid of 50000? to 90000? based on their category ( general, obc, sc/st )which help them a lot but that was not sure for everyone and every year.

On the basis of my rank in entrance exam i was provided a free waiver seat, i have to pay only 23000? per year i.e. every two semesters. Many students have also provide various government aids which range From 45000? for Generaleral category students, around 70000? for OBC category and 90000? for SC/ST category. But this was not sure for everyone and not provided every year.

Our campus life is not very good and we have not enjoyed it like we heard about college life's. In our college boys are more than girls as in every college if i talk mathematically that is 3 girl on every 10 boys that's a bit funny too in case you want to make a girlfriend you need to beat those 7 boys. Also we have been not provided extra time for sport and even sports is not a part of college life only students who live s in college hostel play cricket and other games after 4:45 pm or if you want to stay after 4:45 in campus then you can play sport's. Besides lectures there were little or no other activities performed in college. Labs have been allotted a special 1 hr class in last period everyday which was never sufficient.

No i live with my parents, however i have many friends who lives in college hostel. The room provided by the college is very small and you have to share it with another person, rooms are designed well and provide sufficient space and are cleaned on regular basis. However the food provided in college hostel is not good my friends always complain about food and some skip thier breakfast or lunch and go outside to eat thier meals. There are few advantages of college hostel too like 24 hr electricity, water supply, wifi, playground and a secure enviornment to students.

Seniors are not helpful. They only try to show off their seniority to the juniors so we have never talk them too much also we have no contact with them at this moment.

I have given UPTU Entrance Exam that is required to get admission into a Engineering College in Uttar Pradesh India. However various colleges offer direct admission to students based on thier previous academic records. I got a rank in this examination and based on that i have locked my seat into free waiver couses and so i have been allotted this college.

Our college follow 6 day study program and each day 7-8 lecture of 45 minutes. Only there are one or two faculties who are able to deliver the concept to the students the rest have no idea what they are teaching and what students are getting. Some facilities are so bad that they only focus on completing the course and have to take nothing with students, but some are really good who teaches very well. Most of the facilities who teaches us are under 35 year of age and they all have B-tech degrees, some have done M-tech and PhD too, HOD also have taken some lectures but most of the lectures are taken by assistant professors that's the only two hierarchy level i have seen in my department and this is a quite funny too. Now finally the most important thing that wheather lectures hold any industrial relevancy that is surely yes, but if anyone is able to understood thier lectures completely.
