I had choose BE Mechanical. Total Engineering structure has 8 semesters. Every semester there are 2 Internal tests and 1 final semester exam and one practical exam. Examination is quite fair. During semester exams we get roughly 4 days gap for each paper. I helped me follow schedule and get the work done.

Placement of the college is better than most of the colleges in Goa. Our college also gives the opportunity every sem to have atleast one internship. Companies visited were Tata advance steels, quest global, TCS, Infosys, Bosch and so on. Tentative percentage to qualify for the placements is 60%. There is a seminar of 2 days about how to tackle interview by General Kamat.

Major cultural event is Tandav, where all 6 branches of the college fight for the trophy. It consists of sports, technical and cultural events. Happenings is most popular event of this college where all colleges from Goa participate. There is technical event every year for Mechincal branch it is TORQUE.

Fee structure is quite feasible. My Engineering costed me below 1lakh rupees. Mode of payment of fees is by Cash or demand draft. This is a govt college so you dont need to pay any additional charge to get admission. There is no management quota available. College even provide 50% concessions for obc/ST/SC students and 30% for ESM students.

Yes, I had opted for 30% concession scholarship in Fees. I was from ESM( Exservice man ) category. If you are from OBC/SC/ST category you get a concession of about 50% in tution fees.

Campus life is unforgettable. Campus of GEC is about 250 acres this is even bigger than Vatican city which is the smallest country in the world. GEC has a lot of things to offer. Gender ratio is about 3:1, 3 boys to 1 girl. Students from all races were studying in this institute. Even students from Northeast are allotted 1 student seat in every branch this college offers.

Yes, Hostel rooms are shareable in one room 3 students stays. Average rent per sem is 1900 rupees. Hostels are not maintained properly. Mess food is available in all 4 hostels. But food is not up to the mark but there are close hotels available where you can have good meals.

Alumni network of this college is very strong. There is a website for jobs only for this college this are runned by all our Alumnis. Seniors are helpful. This college has more to offer than actually we can take.

It is one of the best Engineering colleges in Goa. Being a govt college you save lot of penny on education. I answered GCET( Goa common entrance test) this is mandatory to get a admission in Engineering colleges in Goa. After Results your rankings are declared in DTE website. Based on your rank you get a suitable college or branch.

Being a Government college majority of the professors were PHD holders. Most of the professors are friendly and time they are available to solve your doubts. Total lectures per weeks are 48 lectures. Duration of lecture is 1 hr. We have opportunity for having atleast one industrial training ( interships) every semester.
