Remarks

Every individual requires self-respect. All the four years we had to study losing it. We were made to lose it because of our economic situation and lack of clarity about the future. In the beginning, I was thinking that the departments were the reason and the college have no idea about the scenario but I was wrong after many incidents. I saw my senior being beaten, saw my friend being suspended for talking to a girl and myself being punished for taking a leave because of the symposium (only 2 days leave allowed for 6 months, else strict action and that being my 3rd holiday). No extra effort in doing apart from what being prescribed under AICTE norms.

Course Curriculum Overview

0.5

The course curriculum was very traditional and useless. I could say this because during my education, I was parallelly doing an internship and the curriculum had nothing to do with the reality. Every day morning there was a class test where we need to mug up and write the questions that would come at the end of term. No practical education. If you are capable of mugging up the answers, then you are through. So the case of end term. The college destroys the self-respect of an individual and doesn't care how important it is for one. ID cards were broken, the mess was not allowed, goons as drivers of college bus may beat you if we speak something against the college, more focus to check whether boys speak to girls which are highly punishable than studies.

Placement Experience

3

Placements were there as they had promised, so thus for all the colleges that fit in for the cut-off. The infrastructure, buildings, and advertisements would bring in. Boys were not allowed to attend conferences if girls are attending. There weren't any internships for our batch but it started for the batches that came later. Every department attends the placement for the IT company.

College Events

0.5

For the entire four years, I remember one cultural event in the first year. There was a symposium in the 3rd year. For any fests outside the college, we were not allowed if permission is given to the opposite gender. Only one sports event for the entire 4 years, which was canceled for our batch. Symposiums are conducted because they are on the checklist of AICTE.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course fees were supposed to be 64000 per year but charged 1 lakh as they all of a sudden said that it is mandatory for mess and bus fees. Bills were given in pink sheets. Loans were not given for the additional amount as there wasn't any bill. But the lobby with Anna University and with the strong rogue network, are managing with that irrespective of the complaints.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't have any scholarships except being a student through Anna University counseling. I have seen my friends acquiring it but have no idea of how supportive the college is.

Campus Life

4

There was a separate corridor and building for girls. Talking to them is a punishable offense where my friend got suspended. Separate bus or bus separated for different gender. I am a sports person but I hardly played once in the entire 4 years. Only hostelers had the luxury of it. Symposiums are done and completed in 3 hrs with a day of planning because it becomes mandatory in the AICTE checklist. The schedule for the entire day tests in the first hour, teachers come and take a class and no one knows what they are trying to achieve (which is more like a gimmick) for the sake of teaching). However, there are some exceptions with other department faculties. Maths, physics, chemistry, other department subject professionals were good but unfortunately, computer science was not that.

Alumni/Alumna

I haven't had any alumni interaction to date and there was no communication regarding it. I hardly know members of seniors as we are not allowed to talk to them when we are in college. When inquired they said, it is to control ragging.

Admission

Anna University counseling. My cut-off was 195 and I was conveniently able to apply for this course. The fees paid by the counseling students were supposed to be 64000 per year but the college insisted we pay 1 lakh including their bus and mess service.

Faculty

0.5

I never knew how can a person with that much salary and experience don't understand the basics which I realized when I joined the IT industry. I often heard that other department professors were good but as far as I know about computer science, only one out of the entire lot is somewhat fine.

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.

The students become elgible for placements right from the 5th semester of their course work. The students who have no standing arrears become elgibile in the first place. There are many companies visiting the college where Infosys, Cognizant, Virtusa are the mass recruiters. The are many other companies like TCS, Wipro, Zoho etc. visiting the college placement drive. On overall 90% of students gets placed every year. The highest package of 25lakhs per annum was offered by amazon for 3 students. My plans after getting degree is to get placed in any of the company.
