Remarks
Cambridge Institute of Technology is one of those new bud emerging colleges of Bangalore. The ratings of the college were good and it is at a reasonable distance from my home. The campus is not so big but it is well maintained. All kind of facilities is available i.e, wife enabled campus, digital library, canteen, etc. Electrical and electronics department is on the third floor of the main building and has well equipped laboratories. Drinking water facility and washroom is provided at each floor. Admission is done through KCET, COMEDK, and Management with different fee structures.
Course Curriculum Overview
The reason I chose Electrical and Electronics is that it is a core branch and it has a huge scope in private as well as in public sectors. All the facilities are strict for studies inside the classroom but at the same time, all of them are very friendly and helpful as well outside the class. Each faculty is well versed with their field. Even the lab instructors are well experienced and will very politely help us out during the experiments. The analytical subjects are preferably taught using blackboard whereas the theory subjects are taught to us through visuals and presentations. The college comes under VTU and the exams conducted under it are really easy to pass but it's quite difficult to score.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are quite good for the IT branches like CS and IS. Core companies usually don't come to college for Freshers hiring. Although the placement department keeps us updated with various govt. Job opportunities for core branches. Companies visited this year to college were Capgemini, CSG International, Amazon, Sasken Technologies, CRM, VOLVO, JUSPAY, Sonata, NTT data, Mountblue Technology, Harman, Zycus, etc. The average package offered was 3.5- 4LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no fees hike during the course for four years. The same amount we are paying every year with which we started during the first year. The cost to study for 2016-2020 batch was 83000/- per year for the KCET candidates. Under the defence category, I received 50,000/- from KCET as scholarship per year. There are various scholarships provided by college too for the best performers.
Campus Life
The campus is small but it is very well maintained with all the facilities. Cleanliness of the campus is taken care of. Whether it's security guard, students, faculties, principal, cleaning staffs, etc all stay like a family. There is an annual fest called CHIGURU which is a inter-college fest takes place usually in the month of April. The technical fest is also conducted for all the departments which help the students to explore their own technical specialities. The library is four floored, out of which the fourth floor is assigned for the digital library. All the department books are well separated and are kept in racks with markings. Almost all the subject books and reference books are available. We can also download online journals from the digital library. There is a sports room for indoor sports like TT, chess, carton and outdoor sports like cricket, football, volleyball, etc. The college has its own fashion team, dance team to represent our college in other colleges too.
