Positive of veltech : Focussed on academics,placement is very good,experienced faculties Negatives: mobile phones not allowed, Saturday working days,not much support for support and extra curricular.Dress code is very strict
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is fully based on the syllabus given by Anna university. I think the syllabus needs to be updated and more practical sessions are needed.The exams are conducted every 6 months as semester examination which means 2 semesters for a year so total of 8 semesters.The exam pattern is fixed and same for all affiliated colleges.
Placement Experience
The placement is really awesome.They'll train the students from the 4 th year itself.And they bring lots of IT companies and very few core companies, bpos etc. They usaully provide companies specific traning for bigger companies.They won't provide internship.
College Events
Every year they'll celebrate a cultural event in the Vel tech university.Symposium is very rare.And they'll conduct events even before the day of every festivals and prizes will be given on the spot by the chairman
Fee Structure And Facilities
THE fee structure is as per the Anna university which is 40,000.In addition to this they'll charge 18,000 as extra fee for records, blazers,exam fee etc etc.Bus fee is quite higher .They should set the fee according to the distance.
Fees and Financial Aid
They won't offer any loan facility as per my knowledge. But every year they'll provide scholarship to the students for that they should provide necessary documents to the scholarship officer.And from current year they also introduced scholarship for freshers with high cutoff.
Campus Life
Usually they won't give preference for extra curricular and sports .But they'll support us if we are really interested. Labs are really well equipped .we can get the help of lab assistant at any time if needed.
Alumni/Alumna
Upto me occasionally some of our passed out students will come and give some motivational speech for campus interview. Then HR's who are aluminis of veltech are really helpfull .They'll usually refer us after their few years of experience.
Admission
I first applied for the Anna university single window counselling.And according to my 12 th cutoff they asked me to attend the counsellimg on a particular date.Then at the day of counselling I preferred for veltech and luckily I got a seat there
Faculty
The faculties are well experienced, students friendly, capable of good knowledge transfer.And there are also some less skilled faculties which is a small drawback.But helpful for students in majority of situation by motivating them.
