Course Curriculum Overview
Good. 1st internal exam of 50 marks & the second of 75 marks. semester of 75 marks with 25 internal marks. There are 3 must do activities during the time of course to get our UG certificate. 1. Typewriting, 2. Online course, 3. Add on course / Extra paper
Placement Experience
The college offers a variety of placement opportunities to the students every year. The 2nd & 3 years will have placements and requirements. Students should have atleast 60% to attend the same and should not have any arrier or lack of attendance. Many reputed firms come to the college every year.
College Events
There are various programs conducted every year by different departments and the college. The most celebrated function being pongal during January every year. Departments conduct guest lectures for students twice in a month or two.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Course fees will be under 60, 000 per annum. Hostel fees will be per annum and exam fees comes under 3, 000 before the semester exam. The aided departments have separate fees structure and for the sports quota and other students as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
The aided students, sports and other quota students are given special consideration compared the other students. The fees structure is different for aided students. The exams are also conducted on different dates for the aided departments.
Campus Life
PSG college of arts and science rank number 1 in sports and other extra curricular activities. Ratio of girls and boys are not certain and few departments will have more boys than girls and vice versa.
Hostel Facilities
NRI hostel for 90, 000, New hostel for 80, 000 Old hostel for 60, 000 Paid yearly with mess deposit being 30, 000. NRI hostel will have 2 students in a room with attached bathroom. New hostel will have 5 boys in a room with attached bathroom. Old hostel will have 6 students in a room with common bathroom.
Alumni/Alumna
The only thing that the college can change is the interaction of juniors and seniors. On day of my 1st year the faculties told us not to talk or mingle with the seniors and start of my 2nd year don't talk to juniors and if the faculties see that it will considered as ragging. There's no good relation between the juniors and seniors. Only in hostel that happens.
Admission
Within 3 days of our board results, we have to submit our application to the office and we'll get a sms from the college saying we're selected or not. We'll have to wait for our name to be called in a hall and they'll ask us to pay the fees within a specific period of time. Have to come for certificate verification & later we'll have parents & students orientation and on that day we'll get to know the opening date of college.
Faculty
Faculties are well qualified. But the problem I faced is that they explain most of the concepts in Tamil, yeah that's expected because we're in Tamil Nadu so the local students expect that way. But I feel the medium of communication should be English.
