My college gave me a lovely experience the love for my college still lasts long. Once in an year our buddies meet in college to rejuvenate our college memories and experiences.
Entrance Preview
I had taken CET exam, scored 4000 odd ranking don't remember exact rank tho.The college was selection via CET counseling process. I chose this college as it was quite close to my house and i got a free seat here, ie nominal fees without any donation.I chose Computer Science branch. The college as awesome campus and environment.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was semester based, it had 8 semesters. Last semester had project work. The course had subjects in all domains in the first 2 semesters like mechanical, civil, chemistry, physics, maths, electrical,electronic etc. From 3rd semester we had core subjects like finite automata,c, c++. c#,.NET, java etc
Internships Opportunities
College dint offer internship, i did my project in small company.We were not provided any stipend for it.We just went there and worked with guidance of a lead in the company
Placement Experience
Placements are good now, many huge companies have recruited engineers in huge numbers. Infosys is a huge recuriter but i am not quite sure of package.When i passed out we had infosys on campus and HP for Pool campus.
College Events
We a IT club exclusively for Computer science and information technology branch guys. We used to host many events such as treasure hunts, gaming competition.We had a cultural event with many stage performances varying from dancing, singing, drama, mad arts, mehendhi, face painting, dumb charads.We had parent teacher meetings where the top performers were awarded from all semesters, i was awarded many times and that has been a honor to me.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees is as per the CET counseling norms, hence affordable for students with good ranking. For the management quote the fees is quite high.I am not quite sure of the current fees structure.When I studied it was 18K-19K per year as per CET norms
Fees and Financial Aid
I never availed loan as i mentioned earlier because i had got a merit seat, but i know some friends who had availed loan to complete their education. the college is quite flexible in terms of loans is my understanding.
Campus Life
Campus Life is amazing, no match to it. The campus is very clean and very well maintained, one can see their face while walking on the floor it is so tidy.There is almost 1:1 ratio with respect to gender.many activities are ongoing in campus, various workshops such as RED- HAT Linux, Campus connect for softskills training.
Hostel Facilities
I dint stay in a hostel, but i have heard friends say that hostel facility is decent but very strict, all are expected to be in hostel before 7 pm, the warden monitors very closely and ensures that the rules are adhered.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is being maintained well in the past few years, we are sent emails occassionally regarding activities in college and alumini meet. most of the activity are hosted on facebook by my HOD in Computer science department which keeps us posted. Lately the fest is extra-ordinary i have heard.
Exam Structure
Exams were frequent as per VTU curriculum. we had 3 internals written and lab and a final exam.We had ample time to chillax and hang out.Teachers were very friendly and encouraging so it was never a challenge to me.
Faculty
Good faculty. Some teachers were really good and skilled, while some were new to teaching, but over all they were good.Teachers were liberal and strict.
