College Evaluation of Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya, Durg

The college is an improving college with rising number of students every year. It is always encouraging academic reforms and overall development of the students, with highly qualified teachers and advanced facilities.

B.Com is a three year full time course with various subjects covering the stream. The curriculum is expansive with a huge range of subjects in it giving limitless knowledge about economics,mathematics, accounting, etc. The curriculum consists of varied and detailed books consisting of all concepts needed to be taught. The course structure is laid out well and adequate research work. It is divided into sets and thoroughly covered over the years which include project work. the exams take place once a semester, which is twice a year making it sufficient and not too hectic. Tests and assignments take place throughout the year helping us increase our knowledge regarding the same.

The placement of the college is well enough and have a wide range of companies coming in for placement every year. The placement cell of the college arranges for companies from all sectors in order to provide job opportunities to students from every stream. The college has companies such as Google, Samsung, Sony, INFOSYS, HDFC, Axis Bank, ICICI, etc coming in for placement every year. The placement cell also arranges for internships for the students in such companies with minimum to fairly decent stipend for the students.

The college has organized events at the National and State Level, apart from the inter collegiate events. The college has been organizing events since 2017 and has grown bigger each year. The college arranged a State Level Pool Drive in 2017. The year after, it arranged the 16th Chhattisgarh Young Scientist Congress 2018, and the National Workshop on Innovation Digitization Tech after that in the same year. For the cultural and literary events, our college has organized an Essay Writing Competition at the National Level and an inter collegiate Youth Festival 2019-2020 in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Birth Anniversary.

The fee structure is extremely feasible being 24,000 INR for one year of the course. It is not very expensive and can be afforded by many. It can also be paid in installments for the ones who cannot afford to pay it at one go.

The college provides the students with a lot of extra curricular activities for the advancement of the students in all aspects, not just educational. The college has made sure to provide access to the students to all sorts of facilities for their prosperity and growth. The students have access to the extensive library with innumerable books on any topic that one needs to read up on. Apart from the library, the students have been provided with an IT Center and laboratories that cater to the technological needs of the students bestowing them with computers, accessories and all other necessary equipment. The college also consists of a canteen with healthy and enriching food, and a sports complex offering various kinds of sports for the entertainment of the students and even organizes sports events during the year.

The alumni network of the college is very strong as the college really values the students. They prefer to keep in touch with the students after graduation to remind them of how well their children are doing after graduating from this esteemed university. The college prefers to call the alumni over once in a while to share their experience with the existing students and give them a piece of advise for the future. The seniors of the college are quite helpful too regarding the academics. They are quite approachable and are willing to lend a helping hand when in need.

The faculty of the college are quite helpful and sufficiently knowledgeable. They are fairly wise, considerate, thoughtful and and supportive of the students. They have been available throughout for the clarification of any doubts of the students and are always encouraging them to do more. The teachers are well qualified with high degrees and have a zest for teaching.
