IP University teaches you how to be independent,

Overall my college was a decent when it came to other colleges that were located at weird locations in IPU. The experience was enriching and academically sound journey.

I gave entrances for almost all Engg. colleges and got through IPU counselling with a ~19K rank. Being a sikh I could get through GTBIT via the quota they had and the reputation of the college was decent at that tim the counselling is a tedious process and takes an entire day for you to select the course and get done with the admission. Sikh students had to make sure all documentation was specifically in place wrt the quota.

The course curriculum is intense and enriching , however the level of learning depends on the experience of the faculty one must make sure that they ask and clear doubts themselves and be independent when it comes to being up to speed with the concept as no teacher will give any extra effort to make sure the kid passes the examinations self help is the best help.

Internships in my college were supposed to be managed by the student themselves. The college had regular training modules for students during 6 week industrial training projects in various technologies.

More than 25 companies visited the college campus for placements during 2014 and the average package was between 3-3.5 LPA. Some notable campus placements with mass requirements were by CSC, Infosys, HCL ISD etc.

Every year we had University fest called anugoonj college organized prelims quite a few times for the same our annual college fest was called GATES which was a techno cultural fest . The English society also organized departmental activities.

The fee structure is definitely more than DU, ~77K a year(2 sems ). It was average in terms of fee structure. It was definitely less than a lot of private colleges like amity etc.

Scholarships were offered to anyone who scored more than 80 percent during the semesters and otherwise no loans were offered.

Anti Sikh opinions are taken extremely seriously and you may get into trouble with certain societies since the college has majority sikh population. Other than that the college has amazing dramatics, music and dance societies that promote extra curricular activities and are pretty active.

No hostel facilities with my college however the area where my college is located in has a lot of PGs around with cheap rent structure.

Very poor alumni network management as of now no communication about college activities or any celebrations no reunions as of now hopefully they will work on it soon.

Exams and Labs were hectic to manage since a lot of it involved self learning and experimenting if one scored well in the mid semesters, the finals were a piece of cake.

The faculty of my college for IT was decently experienced specially in the later semesters. They make sure the students think long term and practically and try and integrate real life examples to make it interactive learning, however a lot of it depends on how well the class reciprocates.
