The exam I took for GGSIPU was IPU-CET. My rank was around 15000. I had already decided on CSE/IT, and the courses were available in this college. It is easily accessible.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum prescribed by GGSIPU is quite outdated (although, I think it has been refreshed from batch 2013 onwards). That said, it was clear from the first semester that this was not going to be easy. There are at least 6 theory and 4 practical subjects till the 6th semester. The university likes examinations and there is an abundance of them.
Internships Opportunities
The university curriculum does not have an intern-ship semester, so we have to pursue intern-ships off-campus during the 6-week summer break after the Sixth semester.
Placement Experience
GTBIT has steadily increased it's percentage of placed students. In 2011-2015 batch, 433/600 students were placed on-campus, with many students having multiple offers. We had a very active placement cell, which tries to help students of past years as well.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total fee of 4 years for the BTech course is well under 4 Lakh, which is a big amount, but in perspective of most other private colleges around NCR, it is reasonable.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college gives some monetary reward to toppers of each batch annually. Besides this, economically weaker students can avail scholarships offer by Delhi government (which runs GGSIPU), or DSGMC (which runs GTBIT).
Campus Life
Campus life is a highlight of GTBIT. As stated already, the college thrives on extracurricular activity. There is a sports meet annually around March. The labs are well maintained and equipped. The literary fest Ruminations, organized by D'Lang Chaps has a debate competition called Crossroads which has been running since 2004. Its one of the most prestigious debate competitions in Delhi.
Alumni/Alumna
GTBIT's alumni network is pretty strong. Most people stay in touch via social networks, and many even start ventures together. GTBIT also periodically holds an Alumni meet.
Exam Structure
One word - hectic. Two sets of week-ling sessionals every semester, followed by internal as well external practical exams, followed by end-term theory exams left little time to breathe. Practical labs were conducted almost weekly.
Faculty
The faculty of GTBIT are largely approachable and capable. A number of our teachers were PhDs and MPhils. They never hesitated in taking extra classes when required, and acted as very good mentors for projects.
