Entrance Preview
IPU CET.I have an enthusiasm to be an engineer that's why i chose this course. The college is locatex in the middle of the city, decent placement, amazing crowd. There is only a common entrance test to get into this college which is conducted by IP university. No interview is taken.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is quite good. It's an eight semester course. In the final year you have to choose from electives. Two from six choices. One can choose anything as per their interest. Apart from this their is a minor project and major project submission in the last two semesters.
Internships Opportunities
It doesn't provide internship. However several placement companies come in the final year for job which includes Infosys, Sapient, CSC, Indian Navy etc.
Placement Experience
Placements are decent. Placement in Computer science and Information Technology department is good. Companies that visit are Infosys, Sapient, CSC, Indian navy, SAP among others. Packages vary from 3.5-4 lacs per annum. Companies arrive in last year and almost 70% students get placed.
College Events
There is a fest conducted every year around march-april. The fest has 100s of events, GDs, cultural programs, dance/singing competitions, treasure hunts, spelling bee, coding competitions etc. Apart from this other festivals are celebrated like Guru parv, Diwali, teacher's day etc. There is a farewell party and fresher's party thrown by college every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is feasible. It varies from 76000-90000 per year. 10000 INR is deposited as security which is returned when one graduates. One can apply for loans and can later after job pay. There is no hard and fast rule to pay fees on time. Some students even pay after six months.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships for minority students and some sikhs are provided but not through college. There are many banks that provide loans which one can pay later after graduate. The banks that give loans are HDFC, OBC, PNB, State bank of India etc.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is good. There are lots of cultural societies like Technical society, literary society, drama society, music etc. The college is very tolerant to race, gender, sexual orientation. The crowd is really chilled out and quite decent. There is no bullying or ragging done in the campus. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is good. Alumni get-together is done every year in the college. One can connect to alumni through alma-meter.
Exam Structure
The exams and labs are modified such that it's not tiresome. There is at most two labs each day. The labs are of one hour. There are two sessionals/mid term exams and one end term/final exam each semester. The marks and scores of both the exams are helpful to go to the next year.
Faculty
The college faculty is average. The faculty of first shift is good. Faculty of second shift is not so good. The faculties are all having masters degree or above. All Head of departments hold a doctorate degree. The faculty is quite helpful and outgoing.
