About Graduation Life in HCST

I gave UPCEET exam for the admission in the college. I got 3000 Rank and One of my friend brother already studying in this college so he told me for this rank this is a decent college and placement also good.As I am interested in Electronics so I selected this course.

We have Eight semesters in B.Tech and the syllabus is same throughout the all UP colleges that comes under Uttar Pradesh Technical University.First year is common for all branches of engineering it includes mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Mechanical,Basic Computers.And from second year subject is divided according to the branch as I am from Electronics and Communication so Its related to Electronics and Communication subjects for computers we have subjects related to computers.

There is no stipend you will get while your summer training or internship.You yourself need to send your application to organizations like BSNL, HAL, DRDO and there you can do your summer training apart from this you can go to some institutes those conducting summer training in Robotics and other technologies but that is chargeable and you need to spend around 15 thousand for 1 month of training.

Placement depend upon individual as many companies comes in college like TCS, Infosys,LnT and some small companies they will check your 10th, 12th and B.Tech percentage accordingly .You will be eligible for the aptitude for that particular company and then if you clear the first stage of aptitude and then there will be 2 rounds of personal interviews depend upon company to company and if you clear those you will be selected.

In college students committees are there those conducts many small events and one big event that is annual function of college .So students volunteers will be selected for this function and they create many committees and then many events will be organized like paper presentation, robotics competition, debate, cricket tournament, tennis, volleyball and other things.

Fee structure is like you have to spend around 1.5 lacks including hostel and mess for 1 year, when I started my college its around 70 thousand for 1 year. But now fees increased and now its around 1.5 lacks so as fee is almost same in all colleges of UPTU but the hostel fess is different.

No scholarship facility offered by college if you comes under SC/ST or OBC. Then government will provide you scholarship like fees will be very less for these students otherwise there is no scholarship provided by college.

Campus life is good like there are many sports facilities available after college like, cricket, football, carom, billiard, Volley ball, chess and if you are interested you can go to some labs for your robotics and all but it depends upon the faculty only if they are also interested then only you can go.

Alumni network is good every year college organized alumni meet where they invited old students and its a good one day event. I just went there once after my final year and its a good experience, people staying near by cities to college can easily but its difficult to some who is in job and staying very far from there then you need to plan specially for this event.

Exam structure is like you have semester exam every six months and this is the main exam apart from this .You have class tests conducted by faculty and these class test marks will be counted in final semester exams and apart from these theoretical exams we have labs like chemistry, physics, computer, electrical,electronics etc.

Faculty of college is average overall like some faculty is very knowledgeable and some like just passed out from engineering so they are not that much knowledgeable.
