UPTU technical entrance exam.I scored 12000 rank in all up.It has good reputation. It is a residential campus offering accommodation to about 350 faculty members, about 70 support staff members, and about 4000 students. The campus has all the amenities for developing the personal, social and academic skills of the community.

As a discipline, ECE focuses on the design of underlying hardware systems. Our curriculum is directed to applications in major areas such as telecommunications, energy and electronics sectors, while encouraging development of necessary skills for integration of hardware and software components. We believe that many creative opportunities exist at the boundaries of traditional CSE and ECE, and have accordingly planned for cross-training of students across disciplinary boundaries. The curriculum for ECE therefore has many courses in common with the CSE program initially. Thereafter, the program in Yrs. 3 & 4 is structured to allow customization by individual students based on their own personal interests.

HCST College of Engineering is relatively a new college and thus the placements are around 50% though the college website boldly mentions it to be 85%. Companies like Infosys and Synechron are the major recruiters. Average salary hovers around 3.5 lakh a year, while the highest touched 5.5 offered by TCS.

"Reverb" is the annual techno-cultural festival of HCST held in mid-February. Although it's said to be an inter-college festival it hardly gets any participation from other colleges, perhaps because of its distant location. Apart from , there's one other fest - the sports fest - Pro Athletis.

Rs. 2, 50, 000 per year (yes, you read that right, it's per year, not for the entire four-year course)Students getting admitted through the management quota have to shell a whopping Rs. 3, 56, 500 per annum.

College grants are primarily awards of free money, that do not require any repayment on the part of the recipient. Unlike scholarships, which are typically awarded on the basis of academic achievement or athletic, artistic or extracurricular performance, grants are awarded according to financial need. This is not to say that academic merit will not be considered, only that financial need is given greater weight in the final decision making process.

The indoor games include: Table tennis, pool/billiards/ snooker, foosball. The college also has an specialized open area for dance and extracurricular activities. College also includes well-equiped gymnasium. The college being isolated from the main city, provides the natures bounty. The main thing is, it provides the fascilities of the hill-top campus: Basic requirements of stationary and laundry is within the campus.

Decent canteen - slightly congested. Food on offer is thankfully not priced proportional to the fees and reasonable rates are attached to the various items.

Students from the mechanical and civil departments are all praise for the faculty. The E&TC department is said to fare even better-"Brilliant faculty" says one. However, the same cannot be concluded for the CS and IT departments who wish their faculty improved.
