IIT Delhi is Best engineering college in India. The only negitive aspect of IIT Delhi is that the gender ratio is very low, gender ratio is 1girl to 5 boys which is quite disappointing.
Course Curriculum Overview
The academic curriculum of IIT Delhi is very fantastic. It covers almost every aspect of engineering related to the concerned branch. However their is very less research material available for b.tech students. Most of research material is for phd students. The academic exam structure of each semester consists of three exams - 2 minor exams having 25% weight age each and one major exam(or end sem exam) having weight age of 50%
Placement Experience
Around 90% of students receive good placement in final year. Among these 90%, 10% students are those who had already received pre placement offer(ppo). Almost every company vistis during placement, Some of these include google, Microsoft, Goldman's sacs, intel,etc. Placment procedure includes exams and personal interviews. For placements of students, their is seperate cell established in IIT delhi name Office of career services which organises the placement procedure. Most of the students do internships in reputed companies during summer break of third year.
College Events
Rendezvous is the biggest cultural fest of North India organized by IIT Delhi. Around 50 thousand people arive in this cultural fest. Tryst is the biggest technical fest of north India organized by IIT Delhi. Other fests irganised by IIT Delhi include- Convergence, BHM night, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For students whose family income is below 5 lakh per annum, their is no tution fees. But for students whose family annual income is above 5 lakh, they have to pay tution fees of 1 lakh per semester.Every SC /ST catagory student did not have to pay any tution fees irrespective of parental income. Apart from this every student who is a resident of hostel have to pay 20000 mess fee per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
Earlier in class 10th I was selected in NTSE due to which I will receive a scholarship of rs2000 per month till my graduation. I didn't opted for any loan.
Campus Life
The best part of IIT Delhi is its campus life. The campus of IIT Delhi is very beautiful and every student enjoys his campus life. However the gender ratio is quite low, for every one girl their are five boys which is disappointing. Every student is engaged with a lot of extracurricular activities including sports, drama, dance, fine arts, debating,etc. IIT Delhi has facilities for almost every sports. Apart from their are a lot of clubs in whic a student is engaged into.
Hostel Facilities
Yes. For first year and second year students their are 2 students for one room. Other students are provided single room. Hostels fess is 8000 per semester and mess fees is 20000 per semester. Hostels of IIT Delhi ensures great hygiene and hostel life is an essential component of IIT life.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network of IIT Delhi is ver well organised and it offers a great help to students. Every student is assigned an alumni mentor who guides the student. Their are a lot of seminars and talk sessions for alumni to have a conversation with students.
Admission
I got a 188 rank in JEE Advanced 2019. I got admission in Mathematics and Computing branch of b.tech engineering. I chose this branch because I had a lot of interest in mathematics and this branch had a lot of scope in career as well. Admission in b. Tech is only given by merit in jee advanced. Admission in m.tech is through merit in GATE exam. Admission in phd program is through interviews
Faculty
Their are around 4 lectures per day for 4 different courses. Apart from lecture sessions, their are labs as well. The faculty of each course explains every topic very well. The faculty of IIT Delhi are easily approachable. Any student can visit the faculty in his conserned room, during his doubt sessions time (normally around 5pm everyday) or he can write an email to the concerned faculty for an appointment and faculty responds him with the date and time of appointment.
