Remarks
The management was often biased especially for students who chose to do their final year major project/thesis outside of college. A lot of students often took advantage of the college because of weak administration. Students are rarely encouraged to explore new avenues by themselves without faculty.
Course Curriculum Overview
Both the curriculum and the exam structure are a little out dated and could use a revamp. University Education of OU affiliated colleges needs a serious update. Though the basics are tought well, the course could also be more streamlined and up to date with the current state of the Mechanical Industry.
Placement Experience
The core company placement is quite low where only a handful of students from the core branches of engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) would get placed in their field of study. A significant amount of students would have to join Software industry and others would pursure higher education.
College Events
Fests are a binennial event where they would conduct cultural fests (Sangam) on even years and Technical fests (Srushti) on odd years. Each branch would organize their own technical fest every year where 3 branches of the 6 would hold theirs in the first semester and the remaining would hold them in the second semester(Dept. of ME eould host AutoCognizance). Overall the participation from students of other colleges was pretty low (other than the sports fest Athlema which would happen every year alongside Sangam/Srushti).
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was 86,000/year in 2017 (my year of graduation) and the fee had to be paid by cash or demand draft. This amount would include all colleges fees like exam fee, library fee, tuition fee, Lab fee and miscellaneous fee. Students had to pay an additional 3000/year towards the accreditation of the college by NBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
No. Scholarship was based on merit for thise wou opted to join through EAMCET councelling based majorly on reservation and a small part of it on merit like any other OU affiliated college.
Campus Life
Gender ratio in Mechanical, Civil and Electrical branches was quite low (around 1 girl for every 7 boys) but for computer science and IT it was almost equal. For the sort of curriculum we had the labs were alright. Could be maintained a little better though. The technical workshops conducted were good though most of them had an exorbitant fee. Dorm room parties were almost non existent and each group of students would go clubbing on their own.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumi experience in case was only advice I got from my seniors which was decent but often times not practical.
Admission
It was the best college I could get into going by the college rankings at the time, with highly reputed faculty. We could apply seperately despite the EAMCET councelling and ask for an exam based on our AIEEE (now JEE) score. Those who came through EAMCET councelling could avail fee reimbursement if they met the criteria required.
Faculty
Each core subject had around 130 hours of lecture with 4-5 core subjects per semester. Non-core/optional subjects had 50 hours at 2 subjects per semester. Each individual course would not have a qualification as such, but you had to repeat a year if you failed in a cumulative of more than 8 subjects combined. The industry experience imparted would be relevant around 20 years ago.
