SHUATS has a student friendly environment. The management is very helpful in every possible way. They try to take care of all the possibilities that can help the students.

Talking about B. Sc. (Hons) Horticulture, it is a four year professional degree program. Main focus is laid upon practicals and field works which is usually ignored in other colleges. The curriculum followed is same as of ICAR. For every semester, class tests, practical exam and viva is conducted lastly followed by the end semester exam.

Placements in shauts is majorly appreciable after post graduation. There are many companies such as Amul and mother dairy that come to recruit students.

Expression, Insight and many other fests are organised in the University campus. Also, agriculture and allied sciences students get an opportunity to participate in Agri-Uni Fest organised yearly by ICAR. The fests are organised on a large scale and every university student is eligible to participate in it.

The fee is a little expensive as compared to other colleges for the same program but once you join the college it all seems worth the money. The practical and field tools that they provide you is appreciable. The semester fee for Horticulture and Agriculture program is nearly about ?50, 000. The hostel fee per year is about ?20, 000. Many other hostels are available at a lesser cost. Many scholarship are also available for deserving students.

The college offers a scholarship to the students of reserved category, or with single mother or Christian students. Many other state scholarships are also accepted. Underprivileged students of Uttar Pradesh also get a scholarship.

The campus life is great. There are nearly equal ratio of girl to a boy. Maybe slightly higher no. of girls. There are many student cultural societies one can be a part of according to his/her interest. There is no discrimination made according to gender, race, religion or any other background, so there is no need of any student union. All the quality standards are met upto the marks.

Yes, I had opted for the hostel and thats the best decision that I made. There are many options for hostel (nearly 6 for girls and 4 for boys). The girls and boys hostel are situated in the University campus only which is a time saver. The girls comes in sharing options, such as 2-seater, 3-seater, 4-seater, 6-seater and dormitory. The fees of hostel depends according to the hostel and the sharing no. of people.

An annual alumni meet is held in which we can meet the senior passouts of the college. An interaction with them is always a bliss. The seniors in college are also very helpful and caring. There is no scene of any sort of bullying or ragging.

The admission in SHUATS is done by the entrance exam conducted by the University. The exam is held in may and results are declared around mid June. The entrance exam provides us with a merit no. according to our rank. Then an offline counselling is held where one can get admitted to the course he/she is interested in according to the merit no. and vacancy in the course.

The teaching staff is quite helpful. They have a good knowledge of their subject which they deliver in the most easiest way. The teachers are young, with a P. hd. in their subject. For each day, nine lectures are scheduled starting from 9 in the morning till 5 in the evening with a lunch break for 1 hour.
