Remarks

The NAAC has rated A, which came down from A plus.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Definitely no. Bad coursework and bad good project work. Bad project guide. No campus placements even today. Waste of money and time. Because of reservations didn't get enough attention and the faculty were quite inexperienced. The syllabus was so bad that we couldn't learn the crux of the matter.

Placement Experience

0.5

No campus placements even today. Only way to get a future career is to take UPSC exams or do a PhD.

College Events

3

Departmental Annual day fest and Intercollegiate festivals that happens every year and mostly colleges affiliated to the University of Mysore, with different campuses in Karnataka only are eligible for participation. Mostly music, sports and literature related topics.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Not worth it. Because the fee structure for lower category is 10 times lesser and no exam fees for those holding income certificates. Since my course was self - financed, it was not utilized for the project work. Hence couldn't find a research job as Genetics is research-based.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarships available for General Category. Only a few seats are alloted for our caste and least priority.

Campus Life

2.5

Life on the campus was okay. Nothing much festal. Cultural diversity as in the different ethnicity among the students and faculties. Gender ratio depends on the department but we were 12 female candidates among 15. 3 were males. All sorts of religious people are welcome.

Alumni/Alumna

It didn't work out due to lack of cooperation. In 2017, one alumni network was inaugurated by our department.

Admission

Last option availability. Admission through entrance exam only. Management scheme quota. August 16th, 2012 commencement. Since it's a state government Institution the quality is not as good as a private or centralized government organizations. The degree is hardly recognized outside.

Faculty

3

Most of the permanent lectures were experienced but the guest lecturers seemed to be juvenile enough. The facility was mostly Zoology lectures as the course was affiliated to the Zoology department. Senior lectures included the Hod and now is retired.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
