Remarks

Overall I liked my college life and my college days and my college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Every subject is given priority. Doubt clearence sessions for held for 40 min. Easy method of teaching as well as easy to understand about the topics. Yes, its relevant on the basis of syllabus. Not so much research driven as for commerce stream, but fair for all students. Not sure for the industrial visit organized for student but placement selection done every year for P. G Students.

Placement Experience

4

Placement selection are done for P. G students. So, in my time I just was a b. com student and not opted for m. com. I have heared few like TATA steel in Jamshedpur, KITS and KISS in Bhubaneswar, organized for the selection. Though I may not know the recruitment process so I will pass on. The institute take steps to prepare students for their placement during a session.

College Events

4.5

Various functions are held by the institute. Sports functions include both indoor and outdoor games. Indoor games like chess, table tennis, carrom, batminton. Outdoor games are football, archery, various races, Cricket, javelin, shotput, discuss throw and many more. Annual function include tribal drama, tribal and modern dance, singing, solo, duo and group performance and dinner. Social functions like blood donation camp, NSS and Rangers&Rovers mass, Tree plantation, Swach bharat, Clean city green city mass. Annual meetings are held by honourable principal and teachers, guest meeting the institution, night camp for red cross and scout guides students. Festival includes tribal festival like ( bir sidhu kanhu diwas, Pt. raghunath murmu birthday and many more.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure for the students are feasible as the institute holds a large number of SC/ST students. The mode of payment during my time was offline. Online payment may have been started mid 2017, therefore not sure about online payment. The selection process in the institute was through merit but sure there was a late fee submission. Clear transparency was there in the fees structure.

Fees and Financial Aid

During my time I opted for the scholarship. I would not say it as scholarship it was stiped for ST/SC student. Each ST/SC student gets the stipend once in a year. The amount of stipend is 13000 each. To get the stipend money there is a very simple procedure. Document required: Aadhar card copy, hostel certification copy, bank account front page copy, affidavit copy, college admission fee slip copy, parents income certificate copy, college ID card copy, school leaving certificate copy. All have to be submitted with signatures on them. After submission stipend slip are given to students. When money is sanctioned to the institute they transfe the respective amount to each student's bank account.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was well for me. Enjoyed every moment as a college student. The best part of my college was that there was no ragging. Many colleges have ragging in common. There is none in my college. There was a large number in boy compared to girls students. There is a great feeling among the students as we all speak the same mother tounge "santali". Strong communication among all. No different race.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Yes, I opted for the hostel. My hostel had 15 small and 3 large room. 3-4 students in 15 small rooms and 6-7 in the large room. there are total of 14 hostel of the institute. Only 4 hostel had the higher number of rooms. 2 ST hostel for boys and 2 ST hostel for girls. Each ST hostel has 80-100 seats. There are PG available for the non hostelers and there avg room rent would be 500-600rs as the PG's are not holding much facilities only electricity supply and water supply are common in use. There is no high quality standard of rooms provided but it is more than enough for a tribal student to pay the rent for living.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are more helpfull. They take all kind of responsibility towards there juniors. No matter what the problem the juniors are facing, they come forward and listen to the problems and try to solve them. Senior students are very friendly, not only with juniors but also with the faculty and the principal. They rise and become inspiration for juniors. They help the needy and poor by any means. Even if some students have money issue they come to solve it. Loving and caring for each juniors. I was happy to such kind and nice seniors in my college days.

Admission

Applied for the college. Selection done on the basis of merit list. Document verification after selected for the course opted. Fees submission. Factors: Reputeted college in baripada town. Minimum fees deposit. Huge number of seats for both SC and ST. Scholarship for all students (just need to apply). Huge campus and facilities provided. Qualified teachers. Language preferable subjects. Attention towards every student. Large classrooms, study room for students, library for issuence of various types of books. Minimum fee deposit for semester exams. Various functions organized by the institute (i. g. annual function, blood donation camp, social functions, sports functions etc). Wifi facility (per student 1 hrs after logged in). Small gymnasium (started 3 yrs ago). IGNOU institute for students (inside campus). Separate hostel facilty for boys and girls. Hostel facility for SC/ST/OBC/GEN.

Faculty

4.5

Number of lectures for every department (commerce, arts, science etc) is 4 (each 45 min) with age 28-45yrs, qualifications achieved masters in their respective field by every individual. From my perspective each of them are qualified to understand the importance of teaching as well as understanding the problems of students. Drawback from my side was that I dont understand the odia language which was a problem for me, but also at the same time using english language helps me to understand the lecture and about the topics also. I'm not sure about the lecturers holding any relevet industry experience or certification.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum of B.Com under Sambalpur University covers important subjects like Accounting, Business Law, Economics, Management and Taxation which are essential for future studies and careers in finance or commerce. The structure is simple to follow and helps students build a good base in theory. Semester exams are conducted on time and the difficulty level is moderate. A student who consistently studies can score well without extreme pressure. However, there is a lack of practical exposure such as industry visits, internships or real-world business case studies. Also, subjects related to modern digital business trends like data analytics, advanced Excel, and GST practicals should be included to make students more job-ready. Overall, the curriculum is relevant but needs more updates to match the current professional requirements

Placement Experience:

In our college, final-year students are eligile for campus placements. While i don't recall the specific companies that visited, one of my friends interviewed with Axis Bank and got selected with a package of around 2.4 lakh. The exact percentage of students are placed and details of average or highest packages are unclear to me, but the placements process provides opportunities of those actively seeking jobs. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue an independent career rather that seeking a traditioinal job placement.
