College review on SASTRA

Over all I have experienced good environment for studies and sports but there is a problem in hostel life.

SASTRA deemed to be University gives 120 courses in all categories like engineering, law, bioengineering, buisness management (mba),mtech, researchs. Total 100 marks iit is divided into internal marks and semester. Internal marks-mid1-20 marks,mid2-20,mid3-20, assessment marks-10.they will take best of any two mid marks. Therefore 10+20+20=50. Semester conducted for 100 and it is converted to 50 marks. Labs are categorised separately. We have many research opportunities. Separately sastra developed a collaboration with TBI and build two beautiful blocks with high end research resources.both technical and bioengineering research are held here.

Placements in sastra will held in 7 sem for btech students. Most of the final year students will attend placements and placed well. Mostly 85- 95 % students are placed. In 8 sem students are allowed to do 4 - 6 months internship in placed companies are their own selected Companies. Sastra has semester abroad program for studies. students can pursue their internship in abroad program. Every student in college either engineering or non- engineering should do summer internship for 1 to 2 months.

Extracurricular activities are KURUKSASTRA-it is cultural program,it conducts fun games, dance and singing is major competition in this event,many college attend for competations. DAKSH- it is technical event which involves hackathons,coding, robotic competitions and workshops.it is a inter college fest.all collegs in the state will attend for workshops and hackathons. COLOSSEUM- it is inter college sport fest.

Yaa I have opted for two college scholarships and one central government scholarship (NSP). All scholarship are once in a academic year. College Scholarship selection criteria student should have 90 percentage academic attendence and above 8.5 CGPA to avail hostel scholarship osf 16000 rupees. Academic scholarship the students in top 1 percentage in thier course will get 24000 rupees. The students in 2 to 3 percentage in respective courses would get 13000 rupees.

Campus Life majorly depends on your interaction and involvement in both academic, culturals and sports. I have enjoyed this categories with my friend and also good friendship in college leads a better career. According to gender ratio in my course I have equal ratio. There is no diversity. Extracurricular activities are kuruksastra-it is cultural program,DAKSH- it is technical event which involves hackathons,coding competitions and workshops. Debates and robotics are involved in Daksh. Labs are highly equiped and good monitored.

Intially we want to select room in online portal expect for 1st year students. Based on room category either single in a room or more like that. For single in a room - 20k( without mess charges). For 2 in a room -15k( without mess charges). For 2 or more(max 6 members)- 10k( without mess charges). In case if you are not selected for hostel in college you should select out side PG's. PG's also have same hostel like a sastra college but Food won't be nice.

My seniors are friendly and good career teachers. I have learnt so many academic details from my seniors. Good relationship with seniors helps building career and skills in academics. Most my seniors are palced in company placements in college.

I have got addmission inthis college based on my state board marks(12th grade) 1)I have applied addmission through online portal. 2)they will release results on based in board exam marks and jee mains marks/percentile. 3) after releasing the results based on rank cutoff they call for campus for branch selection from high rank to low rank. 4) campus ongoing majorly held in April month.

Actually the faculty in my campus are busy with many research and we can do our research along with them for our guidence. They teach and conduct quizzes in classes. Most of the faculty feel free to solve our doubt at most times. I have good opportunity to do researchs in another course which is connected to my core branch. Faculty members guide us to improve our resume by teaching another courses which is apart from college branches.
