Xavier University (XUB)

If you land up in this college, be sure that you will be a different person after 3 years. You will have inculcated a sense of confidence better speech and also a better human nature. You will graduate with a new family. That will stay with your life as long as alumni. Only one space the college needs to fill is the Placement scenario. If that is taken care of then surely it will add more feathers to the Hat.

The course curriculum is fantastic and flexible, students get choices to choose from various subjects in the final year. In the first year, every student is made to learn basic subjects like maths accounting English etc. And after 1st year students are segmented into their chosen specialisation (Marketing, HR, Accounting, Finance). Students are tested regularly through online quizzes and class tests. Presentations are also part of the marking scheme. The no. of presentations varies from subject to subject. It rightly develops your speaking skills and confidence and has a fantastic impact on your overall personality.

This is something where the college needs to work as it doesn't provide any such opportunities for BMM/BCOM students. But the brand name is so big that, students get easily placed outside. But definitely, the college has to work in this field.

This is the best part of XUB. From holi to Christmas, every festival is celebrated on the premises as students from around the country come to study there. Apart from this, annual fests, sports meet, cultural fests and many more engaging events are common in XUB. Xamboree is the biggest fest here. It is a fest that lasts 3 days and on the final day celebrities like Badshah, Astha gill, Nucleya is there to perform.

Fees are a little on the higher side but due to the experience and overall development that the student gets it shadows the fees. College provides the breakup of fees at the time of admission so students can decide beforehand. Mess charges are sperate from the cost of accommodation and tuition fees.

Meritorious students with 8 cgpa throughout are given scholarships and also students with 85% marks in 12th standard get a 50% fee waiver at the time of admission itself. Minority sections and EWS also get concession in fees.

Campus life is just amazing I mean amazing is a small word. The campus is located in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar which gives students a clean and pleasant environment. No chaos at all. Due to which students connect pretty well and the bond they create is like a home away from home. 60:40 male to female ratio and students from around the country are present on the campus. Regular workshops with industry leaders are held and students have various clubs which they can be a part of.

UG Hostel is amazing with double sharing and single options. Wifi enabled and clean rooms and bathrooms. Laundry facilities are provided in house and every floor has 2 washing machines and 2 water coolers. Rooms are spacious and cupboard is provided by the college and also study table. Any one can opt for the hostel.

If you think seniors are like what you have seen on TVs then you will be completely proven wrong. Seniors are XUB are so welcoming that you won't feel you are not a part of them. They are ready to help you on and off college. All the 3 batches stay together party together and there is so much more. This will be a soothing juncture of your college life and I wish every batch continues the same legacy.

XIMB was already a big brand and getting an opportunity to be a part of Xavier's family was a dream come true. I wanted to pursue Marketing as my specialisation hence I opted for BBM course then gave an Entrance for the same and after a month was shortlisted. You'll need to fill up a form available on Xavier University's Website and pay for the same. And the rest process will be instructed through the mail.

The faculties are amazing, easy to reach and cool. They are ready to help students with thier valuable suggestions. The minimum requirement to become a prof. In XUB is PHD so faculty is highly qualified. Each faculty is specialised in his/her field and are approachable for the same.
