Course Curriculum Overview
We have on internal assessment per semester conducted by the college itself and one semester exams conducted by the University. The college is known for giving on campus placements in certain courses. The curriculum set by the University is groomed to provide industry specific knowledge in securing on campus placement
Placement Experience
Internships are provided in the second year. Certain on campus placement companies come and the institution takes special steps to ensure the students are well prepared.
College Events
Caledonia annual fest of Scottish Church College. It's one of the biggest festivals in Kolkata and a lot of students from all colleges around the city participate to make a stand here. Several cultural fests like Cale theatre festival is also conducted
Fee Structure And Facilities
My program fee is about Rs 8000 per semester.The fee structure is very feasible and the college provides much transparency in the breakdown of the fee. no additional fees are charged in order to secure admission. The process is free and fair. The mode of payment accepted is credit card, debit card, cash, cheque
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes the college gives many scholarships opportunities to the students and students from not so good financial backgrounds. The average sum was almost 90% of the college fees. The college also gives scholarship on the basis of results
Campus Life
There are a lot of cultural societies and clubs in the college. The gender ratio is about 1:1. The college houses open minded students and anything against humanity is strictly looked upon by the authorities and there is no oppression of the minorities
Hostel Facilities
No I have not but some of my friends have. The college houses many students in 2 hostels of its own which are very affordable. There are a lot of PGs in the area which the students can avail which are very affordable as well
Alumni/Alumna
Yes my seniors are very helpful in all sorts of ways, be it organising events, studies, other problems, etc We always have them close to us
Admission
This college is the best CU college for economics Honours. The economics department is known for its brilliance all around the city. I took this course because I saw there is great scope in this course because of our country's deteriorating economy, it can use a lot of economists
Faculty
My course has 4 exceptional lecturers who age an average of 35 years and has completed doctorate and post doctorate in the course. Yes, some teachers do hold industry experience. They explain the things very carefully and slowly so that all the students get to know the concepts equally. They also clear our doubts when they arise
