Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences is a deemed to be university and is recognized by Union Grants Commission (UGC) and NAAC accredited. The department of Electronics and Communication is NBA accredited. The college has its own entrance examination and the admission is completely based on merit. The admission process usually starts around the month of May - June soon after the results of the school level examinations are declared. When I joined in 2016, the college was one among the top 100 colleges in the country and still continues to be so. The college has experienced faculties who support us at all instants. I had referred to different blogs like QUORA, College Dunia while looking for reviews about the college.

I had an interest in Electronics since my school days and decided to pursue my under - graduation in the same. Choosing the department of ECE in Karunya was the right decision. The teacher-student relationship is very important in a college and the department has had a very healthy one, since day one. The faculties in the department are mostly Ph.D. qualified. The exams are conducted frequently with three internal tests every 25th working day (of the total 90 working days) and finally an END semester exam. Its easy to pass the exam if you are regular in your studies.

Many opportunities for Internships, including foreign internships (Argentina, Brazil, China, Germany, etc.) with a proper stipend. Various other internships including summer internships in DRDO, Continental, Identive Solutions, and many more.

The students are eligible for placements from the final year, specifically the seventh semester. Almost 200 - 220 companies visited the college in 2020 and the department had received about 60 to 70 of them. There are students with single, double, triple, four and five offers too in the college. The package varies from 2.5 lakhs to 19 lakhs per annum. The average salary is about 3.5 to 4 lakhs per annum. Around 80 - 85 % of the students got placed in the department. Placement is pretty good overall.

The fees of the college are around 1.8 to 2.2 lakhs for an Academic Year. Apart from this, the student might need to spend a little extra for his daily expenses considering the fact that he/she are going to stay in a Hostel. There are plenty of opportunities for scholarships and financial assistance from the college. The placement training provided by the college is really appreciable. The campus recruitment starts at the beginning of the final year and happens year long. Some of the top companies recruiting students from the department are Hyundai Mobis, TATA Elxsi, Data Patterns, Test and Verification Solutions, Accenture, Capgemini, Tata Consultancy Services and many more.

Life at the campus is definitely going to be an enjoyable and a cherish-able one. You get to meet a lot of people coming from various parts of the country. You get in touch with various diversities. The annual Tech Fest is MINDKRAFT which happens around the month of May. Being a Christian Minority Institution, they have a very grand Christmas Celebration, namely MEGA PLAY and takes place around the time of Christmas Holidays. The Central library is a pretty huge one and houses books related to almost every topic. The annual sports meet is KEMT and happens on a mega scale. There are a lot of Non-Academic Groups too in Karunya. You can join any of the groups interested.

The first years are given a four-seater room, Atmospherically and Aesthetically appealing. The third and the final years are given an option to choose either single, four, six or eight-seater rooms. The hostel for each year is separately situated at different places on the campus so as to avoid ragging. Every hostel has its own mess and the quality of the food is good.
