One of the Best in its Class

Merits: 1. Situated near Shyambazar(N.Kolkata) this one of the best colleges not only in West Bengal but also in East India. 2. Faculty is very good including infrastructure like well-furnished central AC Lecture Theatre, Central AC Library. 3. Senior Junior interaction is one of the best here. 4. I personally liked the Detailed Practicals held here and convenience of Communication like bus and Metro from our College. I came to know these aspects of the college even before admission from Quora and College Dunia Website itself. The admission process is simple. You have to Crack the NEET Exam and secure below 650 State Rank(W.B). My state rank was 600 and AIR:14878 During Admission You have to bring one I.d proof(Aadhar, Voter, etc), submit your +2 Result and Class 10 result & 6 passport photos. Also, a legal bond of 10 lakh rupees is needed on an Rs. 50 bond paper which mentions You have to pay 10 lakh rupees if you don't serve in a rural area for at least 1 year after becoming MBBS pass out.

I choose MBBS because I wanted to be a Doctor front the very beginning. I myself am a sufferer of a rare disease called Crohn's Disease. I wish to become a Gastroenterologist after MBBS. Faculty and Student ration are good enough with no scarcity of competent Professors. No complaint in this regard. The faculty is highly qualified and ranges from PGT(Post Graduate Trainee) to F.R.C.S. Also most professors have specialization in their respective fields. They teach very well with Lots of Diagrams being projected in the Screen(2 screens) of the Lecture Theatre. Practicals are also held with utmost details and care. Terms exam are carried out timely well enough. We don't have semester now and is replaced by Block Exams(3 in each year). The teaching being great, the exams are easy to pass but requires hard work to get good marks. My marks in 1st Block: 72%

The internship is offered in our college itself. Duration is one year. The workload is huge but it is needed to apply and refine your knowledge. The stipend is 28k Currently monthly.

After MBBS there a lot of career options to choose from. You can practice in private, open your own chamber or Crack NEET PG to Obtain Specialization (recommended). Being MBBS there are no such problems in getting placements. My plans are to Crack NEET PG to obtain Specialization.

Fees hike is not that hefty because this is a Government College and obeys MCI guidelines. After completing the MBBS Curriculum there is a Compulsory Internship of 1 year and stipend is around 28k.

Our college has one of the richest Cultural Fest in West Bengal. Our Annual fest is LOBELIA. Held in the month of August with the entry of new batch it has great cultural value. Last year(2k19) Vishal & Shekhar were the Chief Attraction. Not only this 4 days and 4 nights of Lobelia are like Durga Puja to R.G Kar Medical College. Dance, Singing, Recitation, Gaming, Treasure hunt, Quiz, Football, Cricket, Arm Wrestling, Fashion Divas are the events to name a few. Food is also available. The classroom is well furnished. With a seating capacity of more than 300, Centre AC and Projectors they take the teaching experience to a completely new level. Sports and Extra-Curricular activities include Cricket, Football, Drams and others. They are held annually as well. Our College has mainly two big pages on Facebook namely Lobelia Carnival Committee and Students Union RGKMCH

Hostels are Cheapest with a Cost of Rs 20/month. We have two boys hostel out of campus one in Belgachia (500m from College) and other in Maniktala(2.5 km from College). Girls hostel and Final Year Hostels are inside College campus. Hostels are not average with clean rooms and in each room, students range from 4 (small room) to 6 (large room). Bathrooms are average and plenty of toilets are provided. Meal quality is satisfactory and healthy as well. They provide breakfast to rooms and meal cost is 2300 per month only. The registration process is simply being asked at the time of admission by seniors. They allot either of the two hostel via Lottery and inform us the same. There is security in both hostels. Students has to enter names and time of dept./arrival.
