Remarks

I chose to attend this college because of its legacy. It having been established in the 1950s, it is very old so you'll get to see many seniors and alumini of this college during great throughout the world. This college is located in the heart of Kanpur, in Swaroop Nagar so the amenities are really great here. Book shops are there near to the college premises. This college boasts of a large campus spread in many acres. There's a lot of greenery in the campus as well around the hostels. Though this college lacks a bit in infrastructure, the teaching methodology and learning is exceptional. Admissions to thia college are merit-based through NEET. 85 percent of seats are reserved for students of UP and 15 percent of seats are reserved for All India students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I always wanted to be a doctor so I chose to study MBBS. This college gave me what I had needed in terms of studies and knowledge. The faculty: student ratio is exceptionally well here. Total faculty members are 120 + (including all departments). The Anatomy and Biochemistry faculty are a bit harsh but it is so just to bring out the best in us. Most of the faculties here have post-graduation like MD/MS along with MBBS. Lectures are generally delivered through PowerPoint presentations. Practical lab demonstrations are done in Demo-rooms. PCTs and vivas are conducted after units completion. Professional exams are generally conducted in the month of September for 1st professional year students.

Placement Experience

4.5

After graduating from this college, you'll have great knowledge and field exposure so you are sure to find yourself in a good hospital.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee in this college is minuscule as compared to other private and government colleges. The fee is about 24000 per year. A nominal fee of 2000 rs is taken as hostel charge for one full year. Dashmottar scholarship is awarded to those students whose household earning is less than 2 Lacs annually. This scholarship is paid under a programme by the State Government. Under this scholarship, the whole fee of MBBS course is returned to the student's bank account. A branch of State bank of India is available in the college campus itself and there is an SBI ATM also.

Campus Life

4

Social life in Kanpur is great. Being located in an urban area, the college is near to many malls, shops, cafe and other places to hang out. The cultural fest of this college is called TARANG. Now, this is a wholesome event which includes myriad of events like Literary events, Nukkad, Dance competitions, MR and MRS Tarang Competition as well as Star night and DJ nights. The fest spans over about 3-4 days. The whole college campus is decorated and lit. It is organized in December. Only college students can attend it. The Central library is full of thousands of books. It is equipped with AC. Classrooms are equipped with Sound systems and are very spacious with a capacity of 300+. For catering to the needs of those interested in sports, Sports fest called Adrenaline is organized which lasts for 7 days. Various events and matches are organized in the College Ground. The Sports week and TARANG and Freshers party are the main cultural events organized in this college.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There are a total of 5 Hostels for boys and a single large hostel for Girls. Boys hostels(BH 1,2,3,4 and 5) are very distant from the Girls Hostel. The rooms are sort of okay. The facilities in the room are- Lights, fans, table, bed and a chair. Almirah has to be shared among the roommates. There is nothing much to be given in the hostel rooms except this. There is a common room with TV and benches and table tennis and carrom boards. The Reading room is soon to be equipped with AC. The registration for the hostel is done by paying a single time fee of 2000 rs at the time of admission. The mess charges vary every year. I paid 3500 per month. The menu can be changed as per need of the students.

The curriculum prepares us for the real time management of the patient illness. If we talk about the difficulty of the curriculum, so yes it is difficult but just it needs consistency and nothing. It prepares us for dealing with the real world by understanding the patients.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The profession I'm in is medical. The toughest of all. As from the starting I wished to be a doctor. The one who is second to a God. The one who is respected the most. The one who does the most prestigious job. As per the curriculum we have to study all 19 subjects in just 4.5 years plus we have to attend the clinical posting in hospital , which exposes us to real world. The posting time is the time given to students from second year till year last. Improvement can be done in passing the exam part which is 50% in each subject. It can be 40 % marks. Currently I've given my MBBS second year which was hectic because of the vast syllabus. We have total of 5.5 year course for an undergraduate degree. Out of which 4.5 years is about studies rest one year is internship in hospital. We have to study all 19 subjects in just 4.5 years. The mbbs course is very lengthy. Each and every subject is very vast. So we have to study maximum time. So all the very best those who aspire to be a great doctor
